krf139 Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 (edited) Tua declared for the draft today. Teams are going to be skeptical given his health. Josh made strides this year, but I'm not at all confident he's the guy to take us where we want to go. Especially as we start losing starters on defense and Josh needs to do more, his weaknesses may become even more glaring. So I ask - should we bite on Tua if he's there at 22. Let's not forget, the Redskins drafted both RGIII and Cousins to cover themselves. The QB position is too important not to cover ourselves. 1. Serves as a safety net in case Josh struggles in year 3 2. If Josh progresses in year 3, we have an asset to trade Edited January 6, 2020 by krf139 1 1 2
YoloinOhio Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Tua is declaring but still rehabbing and unsure of health status. He’s clearly a great talent but has had two ankle tightrope procedures and a serious hip injury. Thoughts on Miami making him their QB of the future?
jrober38 Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Miami should sign Brady and surround him with weapons with their three first round draft picks. 1
YoloinOhio Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I feel like they will bring Fitzy back and redshirt Tua if needed. I don’t know if he will be durable but he’s really good. 1
LABILLBACKER Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 If I knew he would bust I'd have no problem Miami taking him. Prefer him to go to the NFC. 1

Rc2catch Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Miami doesn’t worry me much unless they make multiple big moves. They’re 2-3 years away from doing anything. Fitz helped them look competent this year at times but I’m not sure they really have much to build with yet. Very important draft and free agency for them. I just don’t see many players they’re going to build around yet. Parker and Gesicki and Wilkins I guess.
RyanC883 Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 depends on who else is available at 22. If he is the BPA on our board I'd take him. We either have a good backup, JA replacement, or at worst, trade bate. Plus, you can run plays with both Josh and Tua in the backfield.

I love their receivers - Parker is a beast now that Gase is gone, Preston Williams, Gesicki, even that jitterbug guy they have returning kicks. They need a RB and OL big time. 3
george c Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Impatient, like those impatient with Brees, Farve, even Elway? Ready to shovel dirt on a 23 year old kid who might develop into something great for a shiny toy that may not be that shiny after all? ‘please... 1 2

He looked like a man playing against kids he’s so dang big
ALF Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 With Chan in Miami they can play Fitz and maybe Rosen . I don't think Tua will be recovered for next season. They will need a better OL after trading Tunsil.
Warcodered Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I'd rather they get someone with less assembly required.

Be a difficult sell to draft a quarterback high after just trading for Rosen and having so many holes to fill and Fitz wanting to come back. Not a bad football decision to give him a redshirt year but difficult to sell to the fans
CBennett Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Hopefully who ever it is they take they whiff ;)
row_33 Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 why do it? the rookie salary restrictions are brutal.... if you are able to recover enough, play one more with Saban...
Bill from NYC Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 My only hope for Tua is that he gets healthy and has a great career. Sitting behind Fitz in Miami sounds ideal for him.
nickrage Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Could he be an option at 2 with Detroit? unlikely ready to play 2020 sit behind stafford
