I am not, in any way complaining about this season. I loved this season and enjoyed every second of it. We absolutely should have won yesterday and that loss may linger longer then people expect. That was a complete choke job and shined a light on some serious flaws. It is not a given that we will just be back in the playoffs anytime soon. That’s why you need to take advantage of every opportunity you have. This year was wide open and that game was on ice. We blew it and I’m not going to just assume we will have a chance to make up for it next year. The Bills might not make the playoffs again in Allen’s career. You never know.

While I agree we chocked and agree we have some serious flaws. They are fixable. Few changes makes us better.

Yeah let’s see if they get made. If Daboll is back it’s going to be tough to beat these good teams next year. We need an OC that realizes what Allen should be. He’s not Drew Brees. Our offense should look like Baltimore.

I disagree.  We need one playmaker receiver. If we get a guy that draws the other teams top db and a safety throughout the games,  Brown will look like a hall of famer. Brown had a very good year against other teams top guys.  He will absolutely go off when we get our "true #1".

If we model our offense after the Ravens,  where do we go when dc's figure out a scheme to shut it down.  And they will figure it out.

Stay the course.  Get that reciever.  Give extensions to players that deserve them. We are going in the right direction.

No need for a u-turn at this point.

I just don’t think we are a team that gets the most out of Allen by asking him to throw all day from the pocket. The league is changing and smart coaches are building offenses around their players skills. Not asking running QBs to be Peyton Manning. You wouldn’t as Brees to run. Do what got them to the league. Allen should be running 10-15 times a game and throwing less then 20

It was a fun season.
I’m optimistic because they have a strong base of talent, they have all their picks and few extra late ones, and they have money to spend. I think McDermott realizes he can coach the defense he has to be a contender worthy group. I believe he realizes they need more weapons for Josh on offense in order for him to develop

 This was THE year.

You didn't know that for certain at this time last year anymore than you know it for certain this time about next year.

heheh.  I used to post a lot on a Sabres message board back in the 2008-2012 timeframe, and the “have patience you petulant children!!!” crowd was out in force back then.  Personal attacks abounded any time someone dared bring up the opinion that the Sabres should attempt to hold themselves to some sort of standard (like for instance, maybe showing up in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against Philly).

I know, two completely different sets of circumstances (and sports, for that matter), but I just think it’s funny looking at what the Sabres have been doing the past 8 or 9 years.

So are you still a Sabres fan, or were so you smart about the disaster that awaited them that you stopped being a fan?
