People have a right o express themselves ..., Sobering thoughts for Bills pessimists 1) Josh Allen threw for more yards and ran for more yards ... oh yeah and caught more passes than Deshaun Watson who was playing in his second playoff game. 2) The Bills offense had 2 returning starters from last year 3) the Bills won 10 games and barely lost to the Ravens, and Pats twice .. and didn’t play the last game.,if they needed it are you delusional enough to think the Jets who barely beat our backups would have beaten our starters. 4) We lose almost nobody next year to Free agency 5) we have gobs of cash to spend in free agency to get better come off the ledge ... better days are ahead They also don't appear to have the cupcake schedule they had this year....... And they barely beat the Jets the 1st game where they needed the Jets kicker to not be able to make a kick, there's a good chance the Jets could have squeaked out a win in the last week too. Who cares if they 'almost' beat the Ravens and Pats, the end result was still the same, they were all losses.... 1
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Next season’s schedule is brutal. This was the year to take advantage. This game was ours. Completely blown and very concerning. McDermott is great at getting these guys ready through the week. On game day he is terrible. The weekly inactives are inexcusable. Clock management is the worst I have ever seen. When to challenge or not is embarrassing. No adjustments and it’s just play for a fg as soon as you cross the 50. I love the way this gets ready to play week to week. But within the game itself, I hate the coaching. 2 2
Boatdrinks Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Outcoached by Bill OBrien is the most concerning element of this loss imo 3

I followed him since college years he was good but injuries have added up. He is only turning 30 and has only has one "injury prone" season in the last five years. He also just had a much better season than your young right tackle, who should be playing guard. I'd give Bulaga a two to three year contract in a heartbeat.

Koufax Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 1) Exciting talented QB did some awesome things, but played some plays like a rookie. 2) Gore had nothing except that one run, while Singletary had positive plays over and over. No idea why we were empty backfield in overtime. Their defense should have been more tired. Singletary runs and play action to Beasley. 3) In field goal range two sacks instead of runs was bad Playcalling and horrible execution. 4) Felt of game on the third down...is there a one second buffer because all I saw was double zeros before they converted. 5) Nice to be relevant again, but this game should obviously been closed out and we should have been playing next week. The ones who screwed up that chance are also the ones who made the success possible, so I want to play better and smarter, rather than clean house.

Our team is so well coached that we are able to beat lesser opponents on a frequent basis. We have our problems completing with equal/better opponents when the game is decided during crucial moments on game day.

As it was developing, I thought it was going to be a game-winner. And it should have been. That and the other underrated bad play that isn't getting mention is Edmunds and one of the safeties having Watson in their mitts at the 5 yard line of the 2 point conversion and letting him reach the pylon. Maybe game doesn't go to OT without that. There were lots of good plays and lots of bad plays. 1

Warren Zevon Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 A few things I haven't seen mentioned in any threads... Phillips sucked today Lawson was invisible Neal's dropped INT Hyde's missed tackle in OT The bomb to Felton WTF 1 1
Best Williams Available Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Looking at the last month of games, the Bills limped into the playoffs, never scored more than 17 pts and only beat the Steelers. Houston beat the Pats and Titans and scored around 24 pts/game in that stretch. At the risk of injury, I think (in hindsight) it was a poor decision playing to not win in NE and sitting starters week 17. This team was rolling end of November but we took our foot off the gas, especially once we clinched. Hard to make a playoff run not coming in hot. We are a better team than Houston. Our coaches are decent schemers but terrible at in-game management and adjustments. The team reflects that in their “chicken with head cut off” approach during crunch time. Spontaneity is lost on this team. I hope this experience hardens them, and creates the poise and discipline necessary to make the next steps in the coming season(s).
BillsFan4 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) I still can’t believe they lost this game. What a brutally painful loss. Im usually pretty good at finding the silver lining but I’m having a tough time pulling much positive from this game (outside of the young players getting some playoff experience). I’m still feeling good about the team’s future, but this was a painful loss. I think part of what makes this loss so painful is that it erases some of the trust this team had earned with the fans (or at least me), as far as “Buffalo Bills fan syndrome” or whatever you want to call it (expecting them to choke, etc). I felt like maybe the Bills had finally turned the page on all the years of finding inventive new ways to choke/collapse and lose games. But this loss makes it tougher to believe that’s true. I think they just just need to stay the course though. There’s no reason for any drastic changes IMO. Bring back the coaching staff (including Daboll), add some free agents to continue filling holes + adding depth. Have another good draft, etc. I still think this team is headed in the right direction. But this loss is going to sting for a while, I think. Hopefully the players + coaches will all learn and grow from this and be driven to attack the offseason just that much harder now. Hopefully this loss will ultimately turn into something positive... ?♂️ Edited January 5, 2020 by BillsFan4 4

Who said they were playing not to win against the Pats? This was a team with a bad offence that was able to get into the playoffs because of an easy schedule and there being alot of bad/mediocre teams in the league this year. They couldn't beat the good teams and needed alot of help and luck to squeak out wins in games against bad teams. 1

Id rather lose the game playing a fashion that shows we’re a year away, than be the better team and have our defense let us down, turtle up in conservative playcalling (again) and have a series of bad breaks lead to a loss. I was ok being a year away. I’m struggling with being the better team that blew a 16 point lead in the 2nd half. Edited January 5, 2020 by SCBills 2

We get there with ease and then immediately start going backwards with Gore runs, holds, Offside, or dumb Allen sacks. The FG that was the goal is never a guarantee. If the goal was TD, maybe things would be different?
london_bills Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Could we not have faked one of the earlier field goals!!!!? 1
