Nextmanup Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 This fumble/incomplete pass play is a great example of how poorly written many rules in the NFL are. The test for determining fumble vs. IP is so vaguely conceived that differing people can watch the same play in ultra slow motion and reach different conclusions. The rule should be re-stated for this reason. Make the standard of review something that is MUCH easier to determine one way or the other. The "arm coming forward" thing and the rule as it stands now obviously doesn't work.
