I don`t see much evidence that Case has lost the team.  They are 5-2 in the last 7 games.  A few anonymous sources quoted by Manish Mehta is hardly meaningful.

Given that he does seem like a real ass.

Well Cleveland beat the Bills

They’ve always historically done well in the second half of the season.

They beat the Ravens too. Your point?

The one poster had brought up the Steelers had only beaten the Browns among some other teams prior to the Bills.  So I stated my opinion.

Sounds like your a bit over sensitive

From what I read/heard, Fairburn spoke openly about some plays/ trick play the Bills were working on, so Sean explained to him in no uncertain terms he was never to do that again. Frankly Fairburn F up and deserved what he got, imo.

10-5 baby!

Playoff bound!!

Go Bills!!!

I think what was described rings true.  During the open part of practice, the Bills were working on some fake punts and Fairburn reported on it.  Coach confronted him and went sort of McDeranged, got in his grill and accused him of not being "on the team" mixed in with some profanities.  Fairburn never reported on the exchange because good reporters never want to become part of the story.  This was mixed with the preGiant game postings around the AdPro facility about Shurmur's low bar assessment of Josh Allen.  These were left in places where the press had easy access and McD seemed to be uncomfortable even talking about it after the reporting.

My take is that McD is that details kind of guy that the Pegulas wanted their next HC to be.  The thing about people like him is that they think every little detail is important because they believe some small, unforeseen detail can be what gets them beat.  It's the "for want of a nail a kingdom was lost" mindset that defines the style of many successful leaders.  We know Rex is not that type of leader and we know how his Bills teams lost some critical games which left most of us wanting an anti Rex HC.

If all of this is as presented, I think Sean was out of line in how he handled it, given that it was in the open part of practice and Fairburn was just doing his job, imo.  He could have made it clear where he thinks the line is without the physical intimidation part but I doubt he would see it that way.  Again, he would see it as some small detail that could get his team beat and that he needed to forcefully address it with crystal clear intent.  I think the Bills are in good hands but would not be surprised if such things happen again.  Thinking of Belichick's staff (+ son) watching the Bills pregame warmup.

Gase definitely needs more time. He needs to bring in more of "his" guys as they get rid of LeVeon (he's allergic to bell cows) and Jamal (asking to leave now, grant his wish); give it at least 3 years to see how he can mold this team. Just my two cents

This what you came up with AFTER your edit?

Absolutely give him more time.  We'll chalk up 2 wins per year while he's the HC!

I had one little grammar correction to make a few seconds after I submitted it; why does an edit matter so much...?

Is this another Gase burner account?

No matter?

Was just busting your chops about giving Gase more time. Being Bills fans, we should hope he stays in power. Though with Douglas there, I wonder just how much wiggle room he actually has.

Just find it funny how young coaches can differ from each other. Gase comes off looking very bad and honestly like an entitled, crybaby who makes excuses for anything that goes wrong instead of taking responsibility for them as the "leader" of the team. I don't think anyone on that team views him as a leader.

Gase:

-Tells fans he is "rich as F**K!" in response to Twitter criticism. And tells people his "Give a sh** meter is on low" behind closed doors.

-Refuses to work on his shortcomings and has become more emboldened to ignore them since he has gotten a 2nd head coaching job right after being fired. Said he will win his way.

-Him or some family members are expected of having a burner Twitter account to defend him

-Had to be warned by higher up team officials that him acting like a child in response to media criticism reflected poorly on himself and the team. Gase has grudgingly changed how he acted but not his thought process.

-Could care less about the defense and has jogged off the practice field while the D is still practicing or stands on the sidelines with his back to them talking to reporters or other media members. The Jets D does not view him as their leader but Wiliams instead.

McDermott:

-Typically does not engage fans in that way or get into Twitter beefs. Instead he almost always opens his post game pressers by thanking the fans in some way.

-Is constantly preaching self improvement and learning and starts with himself by reading books on leadership, people skills etc and then putting into practice what he learns

-Preaches a family environment where players love and respect each other and the coaches and want to be here.

-Is highly respected not only by the team owners but by outsiders and most media members for the way he treats people in most cases(yeah I know about Fairburns story)

Is it any wonder why one coach has succeeded and the other mostly sucked? Why one has a plan with the GM for the and the other just seems to blow in whatever direction the wind blows trying to trade numerous players at the deadline?

All I know is the Jets will not be a major threat to us in the division with Gase there. I think the Dolphins will ultimately pass by the Jets also if Gase stays for 3 years...Flores is very well respected by pretty much everyone and especially his players.

very fair assessment bud....Gase is about GASE..........McDermott is about TEAM.......he's in lock step with McBeane...Jets have been a dumpster since the Woody Johnson/Tannebaum duo......now they have brother Chris Johnson & GM Joe Douglas....oh boy.............

Honestly, I hope they do give him three years! Wouldn't have to worry about Darnold competing with Allen if Gase has ruined Darnold's career.

What I recall is that from the get go, McDermott was all about the Process and building culture.   It is integral to his coaching style.  In contrast, nothing was mentioned in Miami about culture during Gase's first couple years in Miami.  Then McDermott joined the Bills and began to out play the predictions of prognosticators. So, in 2018 Gase announced to his team and the Media that Miami was going to "change the culture."  It struck me that he seemed to regard that as just another coaching strategy, something he could add to his coaching toolbox to try and make things work.  It didn't and he found himself out of a job.  I believe he has no understanding what culture is really about.  It works for McDermott because it is ingrained in him.  He can't coach any other way.  Culture is about everybody in the organization all pulling the same way, working toward the ultimate team goal.  When Gase was hired by the Jets, he went out and hired a defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator that hate each other - more proof he just doesn't get it.

Why, just why would you even think to compare these two?

He needs to contact Marroon for advice...

I would like to see Gase coach the careening bus that is Cleveland, but better to have him coaching in the AFC East.
