Here's a play idea.

It can only work with :07-:10 seconds remaining in a half with the Bills inside the 10 yard line.

 

Imagine the Bills are down 3, at the opponents 10. A FG would tie the game and send it to OT. There's :08 seconds to play so the Bills line up for the chip shot to tie. But when Corey Bojorquez takes the snap, he stands up and throws a TD pass to the eligible player who breaks off his blocking assignment. Touchdown Bills!

 

The beauty of this play is if the pass is broken up, or dropped, it's only 4th down with time left, so they can try the FG again for real.

Pretty sure once you go for a fg, you don't get another down. Also, anyone who catches a pass has to be an eligible reciever, meaning that player has to report as eligible and the defense would probably know something was up

This. Once attempting a FG... even if it's a fake or not and no matter the down it would be a turnover if failed.

not true. If they lined up for a fake fg on third down and throw an incomplete pass, it would then be fourth down and you could kick then. 
 

this is the reason teams sometimes kick a fg on third down at the end of the game. If something goes wrong, like a bad snap, the holder can just lay on the ball, and attempt again on the next down.

Not always that simple. Specialist practice with each other all day everyday

 

Berkeley is in the QB room, QB meetings quarterback coach , and doesn't have time to be doing that with the specialists as much as Corey

It’s only if you kick the ball and it makes it past the LOS. If a FG is blocked and doesn’t cross the LOS the kicking team can recover and retain possession of the ball. Obviously If it’s 4th down and the kicking team doesn’t advance the block past the first down marker it’s a turnover on downs. If it’s 1st, 2nd or 3rd down then the kicking team retains possession if it recovers.

Yes. One of the primary reasons that teams try FGs on 3rd down is that if it's a bad snap the holder can fall on the ball and they can try again.

After reading this.....I’m now sure that the main reason we lost vs the pats, is because we didn’t run this play.  If we would have, we would have won, no question.  Imagine doing it back to back times for a TD AND the 2 pt conversion.  Maybe we’re saving it for the playoffs

you try on 3rd down if the snap is bad a team could throw it away or Neal down if they have a TO and try again.  That’s why some do it on 3rd down in case a bad snap hsppens
