Roethlisberger looked like even if he wanted to play again, he will have to drop about 30 pounds. Sure, it’s possible. But you would think if his intention was to play again he wouldn’t have put himself in that position in the first place.

Newton, Tannehill, Winston, Dalton... some decent vets will be available.  Steelers win at least 10 games win this any 1 of those guys.

So much better than Duck-Rudolph

Wouldn't surprise me if Pig Ben is done.  JuJu is a WR2, we need a WR1 and so does JuJu to stand out.  He's not the same player he was when AB was there.

thats was rothlisberger the other night ?   I thought it was Brett Kissell

I hadnt seen him all season, and the first time they showed him during our game I was legitimately confused as to why Matt Patricia was on the Steelers sideline. Even started to pull the phone out to Google to see if Patricia had been fired and I missed it.

Nope. It's their "starting" QB.

Dude is done.

Do you think JuJu misses AB or Ben more this year? I'd say Ben is the bigger loss for their passing game than AB.

Probably misses Ben.  He's not going to admit that he's a WR2 and needs a WR1 to shine.

Time for him to retire.  He's 48 years old and 400 lbs.   Clock's ticking on how much longer he can physically overpower women.

Funny I read something today about his rehab going well and Pittsburgh is expecting him back next year. But retirement is always an option like it has been for the LAST 3 years.

Yeah, it seems to be Pittsburgh media vs. "I know a guy who knows a guy who knows Ben Roethlisburger's Little Grey Cells" via Mortenson

Now, now, he's been a married man for 8 years now and has 3 kids.  Those days are done.

We think.

so there's that

"I've talked to people who have spoken with him, and he has some doubt whether he's really gonna play football again," ESPN's Chris Mortensen said on SportsCenter Monday.

It kind of sounds like "I know a guy who knows a guy who says..."

Since @Hapless Bills Fan has saved this thread by -you know, providing a LINK to a rumor, it’s more likely the OP didn’t hear it in his bathroom.. But we have an honor code here to provide links to rumor stories and it’s important to!

The Steelers have a lot of talent. I don't think they would go into rebuild just because Ben retired. Probably try and get a vet... Dalton, Eli etc. and draft a guy for the future.

Good call. Eli, that o-line, and that defense can be a good team

They can move on from Ben Rapelisberger  to Rapeis Winston.  Good transition for the Steelers.  Then bring AB back.

The Steelers have a good defense and a good O-Line. They are on a similar rebuild path timeline as us if they can find a QB. I would be happy with a decade of Bills Steelers football in January.

UCL is a year injury minimum. Baseball pitchers usually take 2 years to get back to normal after that surgery. At Ben's age that amount of rehab can't sound fun.

He has been out most of the season and he isn't close to being back. He's 25% of the way there if he's lucky and doesn't suffer set backs or reinjuries.

At this point you rehab on the company dime and keep collecting your fat checks. I think it's extremely unlikely that he is ready to throw in 2020 and I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't come back in 2021.
