He's not going to play vs Jets anyway, but it leads us to believe that he is on his way to being ready for the playoffs. That would be a very helpful upgrade to Cody who has been a tire fire at tackle this season. 2

Hapless Bills Fan Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 John Wawrow article. Good quote from 'Zo: https://pro32.ap.org/article/bills-wary-williams-coached-jets-defense-season-finale "I don't want to go any further with that other than to say that you always factor in to me who you are playing," McDermott said. "I can't protect," he added, before pausing in answering a question regarding Williams' history. "This is a game. It's got to played the right way and that's where the officials have to to do their job, and we respect their job, and we expect them to do their job." In putting the officials on notice, McDermott wouldn't reveal which players he might rest — with the exception of noting second-year quarterback Josh Allen will start before eventually being replaced by Matt Barkley. Williams is a former Bills coach and long-time NFL defensive coordinator whose aggressive approach has translated to his defenses occasionally blurring the line between fair and dirty play. The most notable example came in 2012, when the NFL suspended Williams for the entire season for his role in the bounties scandal in New Orleans. 1

"OCCASIONALLY BLURRING the line between fair and dirty play" (emphasis mine). Those first two words are a rhetorical effing ski jump of understatement, in light of the tapes that emerged and the penalties enacted (as mentioned, as though in passing, in the very next sentence). 1

Will do, but when re-watching the New England game last night, his feet are terribly slow and he’s caught out of position too often, reaching and just trying to avoid holding. Maybe something can be done for him on the offensive line, but he just seems out of position at tackle.

It's hilarious. Gase is a nightmare. They will be forced to fire him sooner or later. Probably would have been better to rip off the band aid right away, but they seem committed to him for next year. Good.
