I'm starting to doubt we will ever see it under McDermott.  This keep it close obsession he has is going to limit this team

Yes and McD may turn out to be a very good coach who can get there but can't ever get over the hump and win the big games. Time will tell

Struggle in the playoffs lol? I mean, have you seen the Texans? If that’s their opponent I feel pretty good about their “struggle”

Exactly- Bens first year in Pitt he was a game manager, albeit more accurate and then year 2 they took the cuffs off. It is time to quit the conservative *****.

+1. The same with Brady too..Both Brady and Benn won with Strong Defense and ST.  Don't put everything on the shoulder of your young QB.  He can play if he wants..Look at the 4th and 1 QB sneak...that is enough said.

Huge mistakes with the RB position. He needs a better running attack and better run blocking.

The defense lost this game, period.

Why does it have to be binary? Both the O and D heavily contributed to the loss yesterday. I’m more disappointed in the D because I expect more from them but the O was, once again, putrid for most of the game. Two big plays don’t erase the rest of the game.

Josh plays better in the Hurry up he needs that pressure right now to play better . This is not about conservative play calls , formation or any of that stuff. When this team plays fast it puts pressure on the defensive giving us the advantage, when we play slow ball then it gives the defense the advantage, its that simple.

Step by step.  This year it’s clear that they purposely have put him in the game manager sort of role.  The idea is to let the defense hold teams down, have a strong ground game and limit Allen’s mistakes.   I get that isn’t where Allen will thrive in this league but that was and is the plan for this year.

Next year when Allen shows even more growth in camp and preseason Daboll will loosen the shackles even more.   I am very confident of that.

Have you sat in the team meetings when they decided this was the plan? I mean, there is some conviction in your words ???

Josh is a playmaker. Period. It's obvious and consistent. Trying to make him a game manager puts restraints on him. I think we're a better, more dangerous team, and possible great team if the shackles are taken off

I tend to believe they let Josh do his things early in the season...let him be aggressive.... and the turnovers made coach McD rethink that strategy....and it changed after the 1st NE game.....yes, Josh is a play maker...but he is NOT consistent right now...I am however, 100% sure that it's coming...and when it does, he'll be an incredible weapon......

Yes, but Josh needs to fix his mechanics and be better on some of these throws.

With the errant passes he throws now, having him sling it will result in even more.

The kid is a baller and I love everything about him, but he's gotta fix the footwork so it's more consistent before we turn him loose.

His mechanics are fine when hes not thinking about them and is why he is way more accurate in the hurry up which is the main problem with the offense when we dont run it.

On the drives were we ran the Hurry up we scored and he hit his targets.

Assume we stopped just one of NE’s 2 TDs forcing a FG instead. That’s 17-20 with a chance to tie on the final drive. I would have loved to see us make to OT. No doubt we would have prevailed given our ability to take the top off their defense with Knox or Brown. That said our defense was missing a helluva lot of one on one tackles.

Because i want more than one win and again the point is THIS TEAM performs better in the hurry up and slowing down makes them struggle . Its clear to see.

None of that is the point. We perform better in the Hurry Up period, end of story. If we ran it the whole game and not when we needed to we would have won and we wdnt be discussing scenarios of IF we score.

This game convinced me that we are going to walk all over Houston and then give Baltimore a really tough game.

If we play slow ball we will barely beat the Texans and will get run over by the ravens. The offense is better in the Hurry up and is worse when we dont, if we want to go far we need to hurry up.

the fact we have the 2nd best mobile QB in the NFL and refuse to let him run is a joke

do you know how dangerous our offense could be if we ran RPO? instead Daboll forces Allen to sit back there and pick apart defenses like he is Drew Brees

I think it's great that we can even have a thread with this title ... for most of the past 20 years .. such a thread would not be possible .. now we're saying the Bills will struggle in the Playoffs ... BOOOYYAHHH!!!

Offensive struggles?  Please. This game was lost by poor tackling from our precious defense and horrendous conservative coaching once we got the lead.

Not really.  The offense couldn’t score 24 points.  I guess we need to count on the defense to keep the score under 17 points to win?

we are NOT going to walk all over Houston.  It will be a close, grind-it-out affair... with a slightly more than 50% chance that we come out on top.
