YoloinOhio Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 (edited) Quote Against Pittsburgh, though, Ford had his best game of the season and flashed some potential as a one-on-one blocker on the edge. This game was also his most impressive as a pass blocker — mainly because he was up against the Steelers’ T.J. Watt. The video above shows some of Ford’s isolated situations with Watt (the Bills did give their rookie right tackle help a lot of the time). While it still makes more sense, given his strengths and skill set, to move Ford inside to guard next season, a performance like this does make you wonder. We know at this point Ford is an accomplished run-blocker regardless of the position he plays. And if he continues to play well as a pass blocker, there could be some hope for Ford at right tackle yet. also -Ed Oliver continues to dominate another good OL -darryl Johnson and Vincent Taylor play well enough to earn more PT -Allen’s processing speed against An aggressive D was back to early season levels (a good thing) - Levi Wallace didn’t show he’s a dependable starter https://theathletic.com/1465285/2019/12/17/bills-all-22-review-josh-allen-does-the-little-things-and-cody-ford-has-his-best-game-of-the-season/ Allen processing speed improvement post-Ravens: One glance at Allen’s traditional stat line against Pittsburgh might be underwhelming. Reviewing the film and watching Allen’s decisiveness and ball placement revealed a bit more. Allen was confident, he didn’t allow the Steelers to do what they wanted defensively and his execution of the game plan removed the ball-hawking Minkah Fitzpatrick from the game. On some of his more significant pass plays, Allen’s eyes moved Fitzpatrick away from his real target. We all remember the post-Renegade deep ball to John Brown –Fitzpatrick would have been there had Allen not given a long look right at the beginning of the play. Similarly on the Tyler Kroft touchdown, Allen froze safety Terrell Edmunds in place by looking left before going to his real read on the right and firing a dart for the go-ahead score. These, along with the pre-snap modifications and quickened processing time post-snap, are next-level quarterbacking improvements Edited December 17, 2019 by YoloinOhio 11 1
billsfan89 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I am starting to think that RT is less of an off-season need but that CB2 opposite White is becoming more of a need. 10

It’s a need because as soon as Tre went down on Sunday night the reality of having Kevin Johnson and then no one was sobering. Taron Johnson can’t play outside and Levi is a good but limited player. Siran Neal can play corner in a pinch but I wouldn’t want him out there 1:1 with starting nfl WR. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one drafted high. 7
BillsfaninSB Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I keep saying offense offense offense when it comes to the high rounds of the draft but if Sean wants a CB in round one or two I will keep quiet now. They earned my respect to select the right talent. 2 1
HappyDays Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Kind of surprised he rated Allen as his 3rd best player. There are some really good gifs in the article showing Oliver and Ford dominating. If you don't have am Athletic subscription yet, trust me it's worth it. 1

Ford has been a liability at RT just about the entire year. If Spain does not get re-signed then I think Ford will probably replace him at LG for next season. 2 1

Might not be a coincidence that when Nsekhe went down Ford has stepped up.

He did a really nice job in the Pittsburgh game.

I'd rather draft a DE than another CB. Kevin Johnson is young and can develop into a solid #2 CB. We need 2 new WR's, a new TE to compete with Knox next season and a backup RB. skill positions on offense suck Edited December 18, 2019 by Penfield45

As it stands right now, and I know some aren't going to like it because we have done it a lot, but I am taking the best CB available in round 1. The WR position is VERY deep in the draft this year and I would look at taking one in the 2nd and possibly even the 3rd round as well. I would use our $90+ million in FA to get pass rush help. With the way the NFL game has gone, I honestly believe it is better to have elite talent at CB and that will allow some average to above average talent in the front 7 to get to the QB because you could blitz constantly with 2 lockdown CBs. I mean, just imagine right now if we would have paid Gilmore and still drafted White where this defense would be. It would almost be impossible to score against us. So, yeah, even though we have done it a lot, I would love getting another elite CB in round 1 as of right now. 3

Brown as a high end #2 and Beasley in the slot are good. I think they need one more starter, there might be a depth need but not sure they need to put major resources to add a 4th WR. As far as the ranking of this team's needs if they are able to resign Spain, Shaq, and Phillips I would put DE and WR as the top two needs. Now I think they can find a top DE in free agency (while still being able to retain the team's major free agents and sign other players to extensions.) I think then you can draft a WR in round 1 and a CB in round 2. Just my two cents.
