Eastwood's film should have included the Eric Rudolph component of that event.  Without it, the story is boring and incomplete.

The Rudolph portion of that story was intense with a lot more questions - he evaded capture for years, his brother cut his arm off with a saw as a sign of solidarity, and despite being on the run, when Rudolph was captured, he was wearing all brand new clothes and looked well kept, which suggests he had help.

I went to see Jumanji: The Next Level  last Thursday because Mmmm Dwayne Johnson. ?  It was fun, but my husband actually liked it a lot more than I did.

My son and I have tickets for Star Wars. I had no desire to see it but he pulled the old, "You've seen all the rest of them at the show..." so, it is our holiday movie time this year. He and I go to see a movie together every December, go to lunch, and do some Christmas shopping, IOW we make a day of it. Hubby was a firm "hell no" when we asked him if he wanted to see it.

Anyone else more interested in 1917 than Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker?

Yup.

I bet Clint does a good job with Richard Jewell, but not as much suspense as we know the outcome.

This one is giving me bad flashbacks to the previous Jumanji movie.  I sat next to a random woman who laughed hysterically at every single line in the movie, all while explaining to her friend every little connection to the original movie.  It was nauseating.

Yes, for sure.  But I'm a military history enthusiast.

Disney has pretty much ruined Star Wars for me.  It has this schlocky comic book sort of thing going on right now, like it's all being made for 13 year olds.

The good news is that after all of the quality has been beaten out of the franchise, it will be passed on to someone else, probably at a discount, and by then, the door will be wide open for a quality, artistic director to step in and actually make a good movie again.

We are still a way's off from that now, though.

1917 looks a little cheesy in its own right, but a movie focusing on the ground war in WWI doesn't come along all the time, so I'll take it.
