ngbills Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Well 4 of the 6 playoff spots have been clinched. But still lots of moving parts in the seeding. Bills most likely locked at the #5 spot but win out and potentially move into a #1 or #2 seed. Fun last couple weeks ahead of us. Tonight IND vs NO: Indy loss and they are done. Win and have a chance. Next week BUF vs NE: Pats need these or risk losing 1 or 2 seed. Bills win would also need Pats loss to MIA to win division. Win keeps that hope alive but more it would be a confidence and statement game to put the beat down on them. TEN vs. NO: TEN needs it or division goes to HOU regardless of week 17 match up with HOU. HOU vs. TB: Dont overlook the Bucs here. PIT vs. NYJ: Pitt loss here and they could be in trouble. BAL vs CLE: Balt win locks up #1 seed. CLE still technically alive. KC vs CHI: Big implication on seeding. IND vs. CAR: Could be meaningful if IND beats NO tonight. OAK vs. LAC: Raiders still technically alive... Week 17 All dependent on prior weeks outcomes but... NE vs MIA: Could decide if Bills win division, seed of NE and if they get a bye. IND vs JAC: Could be for a playoff spot. PIT vs. BAL: Could be play in game for PIT or battle for seeding for BAL. KC vs LAC: Could determine seed and if get a bye. BUF vs. NYJ: Bills playing for the division? TEN vs. HOU: Could be for division, to get in or seeding for both. OAK vs. DEN: A miracle? CLE vs. CIN: Or this Miracle?
MAJBobby Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Ahhh so good to have to not worry about this and know Bills are locked and at worst the 5th seed 5 2
entropyrules Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) Its going to take a bit to get used to this feeling of: 1) no anxiety about making the playoffs and 2) not worrying about where will we draft and who will we take with our top ten pick Edited December 16, 2019 by entropyrules
Real McClappy Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) For me the only games that matter are as follows Week 16 Bills vs Pats Week 17 (only matters with a W in week 16) Bills vs Jets (take your 1sr rd playoff bye here with our starters if we lose week 16) Pats vs Dolphins I can honestly careless whom we play in the playoffs. Smooth sailing Baby! Edited December 16, 2019 by Real McNasty wrong week #'s 2
MAJBobby Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Just now, Real McNasty said: For me the only games that matter are as follows Week 15 Bills vs Pats Week 16 Bills vs Jets Pats vs Dolphins I can honestly careless whom we play in the playoffs. yep this team has shown me they can play with anyone. Come get some 1
ticketssince61 Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 If we are wild card, I would much rather play Texans or Titans over Chiefs

I'll say that the KC games also matter since they have the ability to knock NE out of the 2nd seed but matter less than the other 3. 3

More or less agree, but: Buffalo to Houston is a 23 hour drive (flights are expensive) Buffalo to Nashville is a 11 hour drive Can see a lot more fans making it to Nashville 1 1

I would love some redemption against the Titans from our 1/8/00 mess in the playoffs. 1

Only Baltimore, KC, and New England have a chance at that. If the Bills were to win the division they could be the 2 seed if KC loses one of their last two. If KC and the Bills win out the Bills would be the 3 with a better than average shot at a rematch with the Steelers in Buffalo. So the Bills could finish 2, 3 or 5.
ganesh Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 The Bills are in the playoffs with TWO full weeks of regular season to still go....When have we been in that POSITION... Go Bills!

Maybe due to New Years, but seems the airlines were on this quickly. 14 minutes ago, ganesh said: The Bills are in the playoffs with TWO full weeks of regular season to still go....When have we been in that POSITION... ngbills Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 Well Colts are done. Some weird scenarios to get Oak or Cle in...stranger things have happened. Browns playoff scenario The Browns scenario is difficult but entirely straightforward. Considering how the Ravens are playing, it’s hard to see the Browns getting out of Week 16 still alive in the playoff race. Browns win final two games — vs. Ravens, @ Bengals Steelers lose final two games — @ Jets, @ Ravens Titans lose final two games — vs. Saints, @ Texans Colts win final two games — vs. Panthers, @ Jaguars Raiders playoff scenario The Raiders starts out straight forward, and then devolves into chaos due to the depth of tiebreaker. There is a sub-Reddit for NFL playoff scenarios that has done excellent work figuring out this madness. The Raiders could reasonably win both of their remaining games, but they would need a near miracle to secure every other win or loss they need to clinch a Raiders win final two games — @ Chargers, @ Broncos Steelers lose final two games — @ Jets, @ Ravens Titans lose final two games — vs. Saints, @ Texans Colts win final two games — vs. Panthers, @ Jaguars Browns lose one of two games — vs. Ravens, @ Bengals A combination of games to swing Strength of Victory tiebreaker (via Reddit)
Chandler#81 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Lemme see if I have this plausible playoff development correct; WC Bills @ Houston (Bills Win) Pitt @ KC (Pitt Win) Div Playoff Bills @ Pats* (Bills Win) Pitt @ Ravens (Pitt Win) AFC Championship Pitt @ Bills??? ??
