Why would the 31st best punter be at risk?

Because he's getting worse and worse.

It's like special teams had this knack for falling apart after getting too much practice.

Does anyone know what happens to practice squad players after the season ends? Are they free agents or can their rights be retained?

Thanks in advance.

Not exactly, this guy is begging for another shot,  26 years old but still working out. 6'6" 230lbs

Sure i like that he is 6'6" tall but he has questions apparently seeing as he's still out there why not put Duke on the roster first to see if he can be another key to the game in the red zone before bringing in another player to keep Duke sitting the bench . Just a question ...

They sign futures contracts if  the team wants to keep them.

Vedvik = Shankopotamus II

Perhaps, but unconfirmed reports indicate for the tryout, he was asked to punt with his left foot.

They become free agents, unless they sign futures contracts with the team on whose practice squad they had  played.

His latest brush with the law happened about a year ago when he jumped out of a window to try and escape arrest.  It didn't work and he was charged with possession (a couple bags of weed on his person).  He just copped a plea deal last month - 2 years probation.  If he sought out the Bills, Beane might grant him a tryout and interview, but I don't think it would go any further than that, unless he could show in the interview he's not the same person he's been for the last 4 or 5 years at least.

I wonder if they’d cut Yeldon to sign Collins. Keep Gore as a an option but use Collins in those short yardage situations that Gore hasn’t been able to grind out lately.
