Williams isn't playing, even if they were to activate, he's not seeing the field. Likely if they didn't dress Roberts it would be someone else other than Williams. Give up the love fest and say good bye as barring a huge off season improvement, not likely he'll be here next year..

Gore doesn't even belong on the 53. Yeldon should be active. Gore has brought nothing to this team. You'll note I said "return game." The Ravens took the ball all day at the 25, and the Bills would've been better off doing the same. Roberts has added nothing on O, and the return game isn't good enough to take advantage of his skills. They will definitely add someone next year who can be more flexible.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 He's pretty good on returns and has had some big catches this year. We played the best team in the league and had a chance to win, Roberts is not a problem. 2 1

I don't think you'll find that I've been pining for Duke. I simply think the return game is not good enough to take advantage of Roberts, and that they would be better off with having a big body WR on the 46 rather than a return specialist.

Duke doesn’t have the skill to turn into anything special. I think they are both gone next year. He doesn’t fumble? 2

947 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Roberts he absolutely sucked today, he no longer has the talent to be our Return specialist. He also offers nothing as a WR6, and should be inactivated on game day. I'm sure Mckenzie (or almost anybody, really) could at least do what Roberts has been doing on KOs. We could activate Duke & at least have a big target available if Daboll decides to try & use one.
DefenseWins Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 (edited) Wrong. Roberts is not a problem. He's made very sound decisions all year long. Just because he hasn't broken any that have gone the distance (yet, anyways) doesn't mean he should be cut. He got the majority of his money on his 2yr deal this year and is signed through next season at a very reasonable price. And he still has 3 games and playoffs to make an even greater contribution this year. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/andre-roberts-6596/ Edited December 8, 2019 by DefenseWins 2

OK, but then who is your return man? On punts could use Hyde, but that can be risky if he were to get hurt. Even if you were to dress Williams, he'd be like the #5 WR What they need is a big body #2 WR which Williams isn't, not this year anyway and likely never. 1
Mark80 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 All I know is that I am NEVER concerned he's going to drop a punt. That means a lot to me. 10 1
billsfan_34 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 He has no speed and was epically bad today

But our punt and kickoff block coverage might be the worst in the league. Farwell is actually worse than Crossman. I don’t know what games you’ve been watching but Roberts has had several good returns this season. Now, today, he made a couple mistakes in running the ball out of the end zone on kickoffs. A touchback puts you at the 25 yard line. These days, returners rarely get there on kickoff returns out of the end zone. What we don’t know is if he was directed to do that or did it on his own. Usually the returners stand at the goal line and let the ball go if over their head.
Maybe Someday Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Some bad decisions bringing the kickoffs out of the end zone today but overall he's been solid. Think back to how horrendous our return game was last year with the muffs, etc.

You wanna weaken our return game for Duke? Duke had his chance. Right now he's a depth player for injury purposes. 1

McKenzie can give us everything Roberts does in the return game. Whilest I believe Duke would be a real asset in the red zone. Specifically, I believe he makes that forth down catch at the end of the game. Maybe that's his only catch all day, but it's a big play and a good trade off.

Why is a guy that in his 1 appearance with the team caught every thing that was thrown at him & is bigger & more than likely stronger than most in the WR room sitting on the bench ? Because of speed ? Well heck yah that must be it !! I hope they get it figured out pretty quick !

Nuncha Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 He's a good returner but today he made several poor decisions to run it out rather than take a touchback.
DuckyBoys Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 he's sure handed I question him constantly taking the ball out of the end zone
LABILLBACKER Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 The real waste is the stupidity of this NFL rule. All 53 players should be allowed to be active if healthy. Dumbest rule ever. Tell 7 players every week they're good enough to be NFL players but the sidelines are too crowded. Embarrassing 1
