Proof that the Republicans need to play to win, because the Democrats have no qualms about digging up all the dirt they can find to try and derail Trump and Republicans. Corruption needs to be rooted out and the players need to be ARRESTED, no matter where they are found or what letter is beside their name. If no one faces justice from the FISA/Dossier/Spying and all the other crimes we know have been committed, if Comey and Brennan (to name a few) walk because too many people are afraid of what would happen if they were charged with their crimes, then this country is truly *****.

Absolutely. If the Dems are genuinely stupid enough to go to round 2 for impeachment, it's time to open up some vaults.

Foxx, it is an interesting topic.  Thx.  Maybe it should be changed.  I posed the question 'if you were OK with the ability of the minority to keep from even bringing charges'.  If the House process is similar to bringing charges while the Senate holds the trial, should there be a lower bar to formally accuse versus to convict?  Again, in question form.

I think sometimes people want to fix the 'bad thing' that they perceive happened to them, so they propose a solution that will not allow that particular bad thing to recur.  Often I have found that those rapid response solutions may not have thought the possibilities through from every angle.  In other words, the fix may address the bad thing that just happened but if not well thought out, can create situations that could be unforeseen.

as i stated during our conversation, i don't know what the remedy is or should be. i only know that what just happened was something that the founders greatly feared.

as a way to avoid this in the future, there should be some mechanism in place towards that end. if a 2/3rd's majority is required to convict, i see no reason why something along those lines shouldn't be required to initiate such an investigation.

again, i know that i am not alone in those thoughts.

Why I’m Not Upset with Mitt Romney

by Michael Brown

Original Article

Before you crucify me for not condemning “the traitor,” please hear me out. My position has nothing to do with whether I agree with Romney’s “guilty” vote on the first article of impeachment. And it has nothing to do with whether I believe he is a true conservative. Or even a loyal Republican for that matter. It has to do with something far deeper. Are you willing to hear me out? I’m quite aware of the litany of charges against Mitt Romney’s past political record and business dealings

We agree there (bolded).  Find out what was at the root of the FISA/Dossier/Spying issues, party affiliation is immaterial.  I am not aware what specific evidence possibly incriminates those you are pointing at, but if there is more than accusations, make the case, charge them, and take them to trial.

Sometimes I think accusers point to something that is suspicious but then have little proof of any actual misdeed.  They just keep implying it looks corrupt without actual proof.  Keeping the suspicion afloat can be enough if the accusation was done for political purposes.

Half the country thinks that Trump just acted corruptly with the Ukraine saga.  It seems many Congressional Repubs were willing to overlook Trump's corruption essentially (for hundreds) out of fear of political repercussions.  That is why about half the country thinks we are well on our way to being truly ***** already.

ummm... are you referring to the recently just completed impeachment sham? because the  description certainly fits.

You gotta wonder why the Dems let this idiot go on TV. Every time she speaks they must lose a handful of voters.

Impeachment witness Vindman fired, escorted out of White House after Trump acquittal

By John Roberts, Brooke Singman | Fox News

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who made waves as a witness during the Trump impeachment proceedings, was fired Friday by the National Security Council and escorted off of the White House grounds, Fox News has confirmed.

Vindman was on detail to the National Security Council from the Department of Defense, and it is expected he will return there. It comes just two days after President Trump was acquitted in the Senate on the impeachment charges brought by the House last year over his dealings with Ukraine.

In a lengthy statement, Vindman’s attorney, David Pressman, confirmed that Vindman had been escorted out of the White House on Friday.

“There is no question in the mind of any American why this man’s job is over, why this country now has one less soldier serving it at the White House,” Pressman said. “LTC Vindman was asked to leave for telling the truth. His honor, his commitment to right, frightened the powerful.”

Maybe a more extensive background report would get the opinions of former superiors and make a determination that he wasn't fit to serve anywhere in the government.

We’ll probably see the usual two-step about this news on the Hill. Step one: Republicans in Congress say, “We shouldn’t assume the worst about the president’s motives. Maybe he removed Vindman for reasons other than retaliation.” Step two: Trump turns around this afternoon or tomorrow and flatly admits to reporters that it was retaliation. “The son of a B word testified against me. He had to go.”

Then there’ll be some sort of halting step three. A sheepish “it’s not what I would have done” from the now-burned Susan Collins crowd, an enthusiastic “the son of a B word had to go” from the Matt Gaetz chorus.

Why don’t they just skip steps one and two? You’d think they would have learned by now. Go straight to three.
