I don't know why anyone with half a conscience would do so, but I've long believed there really is just one mushy political party that pretends to act as two, with an eye toward maintaining the status quo. My suggestion would be to move forward to dismiss the case as quickly as reasonably possible, to paint the dems as obstructionist and socialists willing to steal the presidency that was rightly won by President Trump. If they lose at the ballot box over this issue, well, what can you really do? We have 3+ years of Russian fiction that some people still cling to in spite of a failure best described as spectacular, we have the public dismemberment of Brett Kavanaugh, along with people screaming that the Senate needs to do something it simply does not need to do----all in the backdrop of a of one of the most high-profiled public figures bullying foreign power into doing his bidding while his son is enriched beyond most people's wildest dreams. As we look forward to the ballot box, there is plenty of ammunition to use against the democrats. At this point, it's really boiled down to 'us v. them'. Might as well get to it. This oversight is legitimate in my opinion. In essence you are advocating for no further oversight of Trump because Mueller did not find sufficient evidence of a conspiracy to convict. Since folks thought he may be involved with our enemy and decided to investigate, that is it, no further review of any of his future actions? Is that right? That position does not make a lot of sense as the past does not tell us enough about future behavior. For example, should we investigate future murder accusations against OJ? After all he was acquitted before and he was put through a lot. Another question....Do you want to know the truth in this Ukraine aid saga? His plot didn't involve a #### ### or even hotel rights, which would be plenty improper. But, the alleged plot involved trying to affect the election by smearing Biden. This guy has no qualms taking election aid from foreign countries. He has done it with Russian (WikiLeaks) help, has clearly stated he would accept it from random countries like Norway, and has declared clearly on the WH lawn that he wants help from Ukraine and China. Do you see that cheating to get an edge in the election makes it impractical to just let it be decided in the next election? The election interference has to stop immediately.
