The “Carolina connection” is kinda dead at this point. Beane and McDermott’s connections over there are almost completely gone.

The current Owner wasnt even there when McDermott was.   The current GM was but he isnt going to make it into next year.  The ties to McDermott there will all likely be gone before the 2020 season begins.

No. He came here and took on a rebuild that took three seasons to come to fruition. He's not leaving just to start it all over. And I can promise you, he's in line for an extension and a raise here.

Not to mention that a rebuild is sort of like a draft pick--its a bit of a crapshoot.  If your QB doesn't pan out, or you miss no some draft picks, you can very easily fail and not get a second bite at the apple.

Agreed. He and Beane are so in tune with each other that there's no way he's going anywhere.

 

And like I stated, if it's for more money, I have no doubt Pegs would extend him with a nice raise. He's earned it.
