H2o Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 After seeing his snaps cut for a week or two the young man has responded. People are so quick to throw around the "bust" label just because a guy doesn't perform like an All Pro out of the gate. Pretty ridiculous. He's got a sack in each of his last two games now(I think he could have been credited for another .5 sack today as well) and you see him disrupting more on the interior. If he keeps up the trend, a sack per game for the rest of the year, he will finish his rookie season with 8. Whether he does continue the trend or not, I do think you can see flashes that the young man is gonna be a good player before it's all said and done. 16 3

If he can keep it up, I'll eat my crow with a side of hot sauce. 3 1 2
Warcodered Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 He's doing well but I can only imagine how many sacks D.K. Metcalf would have by now. 1 16 1 1
wppete Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Ed is a stud! He is just warming up! Loved seeing him and Jordan Phillips out there together on 3rd and long. 4
Just Joshin' Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 He was never a bust 1/2 way through the year. Those who thought it show they have zero football IQ. 9 1 2 4
Boatdrinks Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Won’t know until around year 3 or so. He’s having an up and down rookie season, a very typical story. 4
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Does worry me a bit if he's going to be one of these guys that always needs extra motivation. Granted he's only a rookie who likely has had it easy all his life as he was always the best player on the field which now is no longer true. So he could learn a life lesson or will this become a year to year thing with him? We shall see. Having said that, agree he has looked much better. Also may simply be after 10 weeks, the game has finally started to slow down for him. 1
78thealltimegreat Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Uh no he’s nowhere near a bust and just give him one full off season of what’s expected of him and he’ll be a monster 3
atlbillsfan1975 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Showing constant development. Sign of hard work and coaching 4
Happy Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Just now, Mark Vader said: I didn't know he was a bust. For those who have realistic expectations for a rookie DT, no, Ed Oliver is not a bust. He needs time to acclimate to how NFL Olines block and how radically different it is from college. For those harping on passing DK Metcalf for Ed Oliver, they'll never get it. 6 1
peterpan Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Looked great today. Important to note he was lining up against a rookie G whom is starting due to injury.

This was for all of those talking about him being such because he wasn't the DPOY version of Aaron Donald from week 1 on. 2

Shooter McGavin Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 I don’t know what game you guys are watching, but the Ed Oliver at RT experiment needs to end now! Let’s move him to guard for the rest of the season and then cut him in the offseason. Problem solved 2
Dopey Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 He's won't be a bust if he's moved to de. Right?! 1
Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 I doubt most on here called him a bust. I will own up to thinking he would fade down the stretch. Maybe a couple weeks of reduced snaps let him recharge. His inside pass rush and ability to chase will be key the next two weeks. 2
