stevestojan Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 My wife and I will be flying into Buffalo this week, as we do every year for thanksgiving. I texted my dad, who is 74, asking how he’s brought up the subject of a Bills game happening while my mom is preparing dinner for 20 people. We normally eat dinner around 4:00. He said “She knows. Dinner normally takes 11 minutes. We eat at halftime.” 2 5 3
YoloinOhio Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 We will likely eat before the game. Usually a mid day meal around 3. Need time to be able to break out the turkey sammiches around 7.
RiotAct Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 My wife has to go to work at 5:00 so we’re eating around 2... no problems here!
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Very tricky. Not hosting this year for first time in a long time, so I am at the mercy of the in-laws (not football fans). The start time for eating is ambiguous “afternoon.” 1
F.W. Cyclone Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 My wife has to work the whole day so I will be watching the game at home by myself.? 2
BillsFanSD Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 We live 13 hours away from family, so Thanksgiving is always a just-us affair. We're eschewing turkey and doing super nachos instead in honor of gameday. I plan on consuming some beer with my just-of-age son and enjoying a Bills win. 3 1
MAJBobby Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Likely will be eating at 3 as long as the smoker doesn’t take longer. Day starts at 3am for me
BuffaloBillies Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 TV volume will be on max and my old dad will still ask, "what happened?" about 10 times throughout the game. It's OK though, glad he's coming. 4 1 1
LDD Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) We will eat at 3. Majority of family are football fans but not Bills fans. The core is Bills mafia though. It should get chippy. Edited November 24, 2019 by LDD
rochester rob Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Cooking the turkey on Wed so Thursday is all snacks and then turkey sandwiches. My sons team the Bears play at noon followed by the Bills. Should be a great day all around.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Eating at 3 or maybe even 2, so should be no issue 1
oldmanfan Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) We’ll do our normal service work in the AM, come home and start cooking, and eat before the game. Just a quick word on the greatness of Bills fans. My older daughter moved to Orlando a few weeks ago and was immediately embraced by fellow crazies at Kitty O’Shea’s. Today when she asked who would be there on Thursday she was inundated with invitations for Thanksgiving. Her first holiday away but she’ll be with her new Bills family!. Saxum Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 I am working on Thanksgiving but only partial day so will be able to see most of game. It is just three of us for Thanksgiving so my wife usually makes a duck but this year we got a 18 pound turkey free at BJs with purchase of three items so we probably will be eating turkey. She is already defrosting it now to marinate it.

chaccof Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Heading to Raleigh for dinner at my sister's house. Neither she nor her husband are Bills fans. Thankfully they have a big house and lots of TV's and we will have eaten by then so my son and I can sneak off and watch the game. She was smart, she married for money the first time! 1
H2o Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Everyone comes to our house on Thanksgiving. I'm a Bills fan and my gf is a Cowboys fan. One of us will be having humble pie for dessert. 1

No such thing. The Game Day Thread is your family! And we are just as dysfunctional and annoying! Edited November 25, 2019 by YoloinOhio 1 6 2 1
Formerly Allan in MD Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 When you're invited to dinner at 4:00 by people who hate football, you have a major problem. 1
