Hapless Bills Fan Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Kelly talks about it from the perspective of a failure of the Dolphins defense. Motor and Josh did do a great job of "selling it". But it also needs to be granted there were 2, maybe 3, Dolphin defenders with a good chance for a tackle and Allen made them miss. He is a deceptively fast and agile runner. Let's hope the Broncos take him lightly. 4 1
Dont Stop Billeiving Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Great play fake and execution as you mentioned. I think there's potential to use Von Miller's aggression against him using these RPOs on Sunday. Let's bring back the jet sweeps as well! He obviously talks smack about his own team too (Exhibit A above), but Omar Kelly will never say a good word about the Bills (or any team besides the Dolphins). He is the actual worst.
Big Turk Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 This just in....Josh Allen is fast. Really really fast. 1
r00tabaga Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Josh Allen is faster than he looks. Omar Kelly is as dumb as he looks. 1 1

Apparently they cannot see the 3 receivers we had start their routes? Will admit that in all fairness it was more a read option (or maybe just a fake) to that dive play as there was no doubt Josh was keeping it to run. The top 2 receivers sold the RB run with one running the defender off and our slot setting up inside leverage as if he were blocking for the RB. McKenzie on the play side setup to block downfield for Josh right away. Daboll made them look a bit silly on that play, but it should work wonders against guys selling out in run blitzes. That element of contain discipline that keeps DE's from crashing down on inside runs when there is a mobile QB...have to flash that now and then to keep them honest. I give our Smurfs some grief, but that was some committed downfield blocking my McKenzie. Yes, that was well executed and fun to watch.
section122 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Omar Kelly = Mannish Mehta = Mike Rodak They troll their own fans as much or more so than anything else. The new ESPN reporter is such a breath of fresh air. Marcel Louis Jacques actually has me going to ESPN for Bills news instead of avoiding it. 4
blacklabel Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Omar Kelly's gotta be one of the schmuckiest schmuck writers out there. Maybe the defense did screw up on this play, or maybe it was an extremely well executed fake. When I saw it live, my eyes followed Singletary, just like the camera and the Dolphins defense. Josh did a really great job of hanging out for just a split second before he took off. 1

From the camera angle, Josh Allen "sells" the handoff a little longer on an RPO than on a play fake. Eventually, they've got to work that out or it's a "tell". But in all honesty, it's probably harder to see on the field. 1 1
njbuff Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 The way Allen landed I was almost ready to see him get a separated shoulder. Good thing my diabetic (maintained ?) eyes lied to me.
machine gun kelly Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 He’s getting better at sliding, but his natural inclination is to dive for those extra yards as a competitor. Someone needs to get through to him he’s no good to the team if out for four weeks and blows the season. I’m fine with him running when warranted, but ***** (sorry mods) can you just slide big guy. I’d rather let him throw or have one of our guys run it in.
DallasMac Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 He was within the 10 yard line. No way he was sliding. 1

In this particular case, I think he had the goal line in his sights and truthfully if he'd slid, they would have had a better shot to hit him in the head. As it was they got him from behind and barely got him. I like watching the shoulder roll back to his feet about as well as anything on the clip. He is such a freak athlete But in general...I agree with you .... run out of bounds or GO DOWN big guy!
Augie Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 That’s a perfect example of “everyone has a job, just do YOUR job.”
