youngjebrey Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) I don’t know if anyone has seen this video posted by his wife but it’s inspiring. Poor guy has been through hell and back. I’m rooting for his comeback but if he never plays a down of football again he has my respect forever. Edited November 19, 2019 by youngjebrey 3 3
zow2 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 It's almost impossible that he will ever play again. He may not even want to anymore. 17 surgeries so far. He's a tough guy for dealing with this injury.
whatdrought Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Not many players in the NFL right now that have gone through as much ***** as him, and been such a great dude in the process. - drafted by a terrible team and playing for terrible coaches which led to playing poorly (on him as well) and being labled a bust. - finally got a competent coach and started to look like a good QB. - replaced by a guy who athletically just had more to offer (which, in hindsight is a questionable decision after all). -traded to a team that made him look very good- played with a great coach and looked really good for several years. -replaced again by a superior talent and maybe an all time great. - traded to a team that aspires to one day be as prestigious as a burning pile of *****. - makes said dumpster fire look really good for half a season - gets devestating injury that potentially ends his career. All that to say- best wishes to him. My advice would be to get right physically and find a new profession. Football isn’t worth the risk at this point. 8 1 1
Nextmanup Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Play again? To hell with that. He has plenty of money. I just hope he can live a long life free of pain and debilitation. 2
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) Who am I to say but ... I think he should retire. Find a lice warm beachfront home and relax and enjoy the family. Edited November 19, 2019 by SlimShady'sGhost 1
billsfanmiami(oh) Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Def rooting for him in whatever his next role ends up being.
BaaadThingsMan Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Good for him. I hope he recovers the use of his leg without pain so he can enjoy retirement. I wouldn't play again if I were him. 1
r00tabaga Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 I think the real lesson here is, NFL players are stealing all the hot women.

An Alex Smith Football life would be interesting for sure. Best of luck to him.

buffaloboyinATL Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Damn. I give him credit for trying so hard to get back. 2

Mr. WEO Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 No chance he plays again. He should enjoy life back on his feet. 1
Formerly Allan in MD Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 He's had all those surgeries, limps around Redskin Park with a cane, and is a millionaire. Plus, if he were to come back, lest we forget he'd be playing for the Redskins, an extremely solid and caring organization. No thanks. 1

Having a reason to rehab and staying motivated to get back in the league might keep his mental state very healthy. But yeah, he's never going to play again whether doctors clear him or not. He can't walk properly and may never be able to.. let alone run, plant, take a hit, etc..
peterpan Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Wow, seeing him running and lifting like that, I thought he wasn't even close to that level. It's really too bad that horrible injuries like that aren't reserved for people who deserves it. Like Brady!!!!
C.Biscuit97 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) Why would he play Again? To throw 17 td passes and lose in the first round of the playoffs? He had a nice career and made good money. Have an awesome retirement Alex. You did well in life. Edited November 19, 2019 by C.Biscuit97
