Inigo Montoya Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 (edited) VIC FANGIO, DENVER BRONCOS According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Broncos coach Vic Fangio has had a "difficult time" connecting with players and coaches, leading to "internal tension" within the organization. Fangio's debut season in Denver has largely been a disaster as the first-time head coach has reportedly rubbed many the wrong way with his "gruff demeanor," creating a tense atmosphere characterized by "internal strife." Per La Canfora has often been at odds with his assistants, continually disputing play-calls while coming off as "overbearing on the headsets." Many in the organization feel Fangio lacks "people skills," making for a "difficult climate." Fangio's hard-nosed approach reportedly alienated Emmanuel Sanders, who "in essence walked out on the team" prior to being traded. Beleaguered GM John Elway whiffed on Vance Joseph and the move to Fangio doesn't seem to be going much better. SOURCE: CBS Sports Nov 17, 2019, 9:38 AM ET __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This little tidbit appeared on RotoWorld this Sunday morning before the Broncos frittered away a 20 point second half lead to lose a crusher to the Vikings. The Broncos are a team in turmoil. It doesn't sound like they have a good locker room right now. Let's hope they bring a bit of that 3-7 dysfunction to New Era next week. It's nice not to be the dysfunctional franchise for a change... Edited November 18, 2019 by Inigo Montoya 3 1 1
RoboTronic Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Sounds like an old-time coach who doesn't know how to interact/connect with "modern" young players. 1

HOUSE Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 ANOTHER problem team just like the Eagles & Browns were suppose to be. Not buying any of this garbage..... 22 2 1

Yeah, I'm leaning this way as well. I posted it in another thread, but despite pretty horrific QB play the Broncos have been in almost every game and have found excruciating ways to lose. A few bounces and this could be a 7=3 or 6-4 team. It will not likely be an "easy" win next week. 6

DRA3196 Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Quote So a team that hasn't had the success they expected this season, has internal strife, has their backs against the wall and is now playing the Bills at New Era and is looking to save their season. Where have I heard this story before? Weren't the Eagles...hmmm...ok well about those CLE Browns.... yeah...I thought so.
r00tabaga Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Their D is good but got exposed today. Gonna need to stop their run game.

Not that this will be an "easy" game, but this is the primary difference between them and the Eagles and Browns. Also, the Browns didn't come into New Era -- we lost a close game on the road. This is a game the Bills should win and need to win, and it is a more likely win than the Browns or the Eagles. Hopefully they do. 2
C.Biscuit97 Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 It was bad hire by John Elway, who is awful at his job. 6

Outside of him lucking up on the Peyton Manning signing and getting Demarcus Ware from Dallas, he has been really bad as a GM. You would think as a former QB, and HOF'er as well, that the first thing he would be able to do is identify QB talent. He hasn't been able to do that. You wonder how long he holds his job due to his status in Denver and the fact they got a SB a few years ago. 1

It sounds like this team is not all that fond of their coach, so rallying behind him could be an issue. 2 1

Sounds to me like a team that just experienced the apex of their collective meltdown. Yesterday’s comeback loss seems like it’d be the back breaker IMO 1

Sometimes a great player is not the best to identify talent; because they expect everyone to be at their level in their playing time. Good examples are Elway and Jordan. 2
PaattMaann Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 JLC's report has been beat back by several local Broncos beat writers, and Cecil Lammey (footballguys.com and local broncos radio guy) - who went on a twitter diatribe yesterday against that report, saying JLC has no friggin clue what he hes talking about, and that the locker room is actually pretty tight and behind Fangio and his "process". So take it for what its worth. I do really like seeing them blow that lead against the Vikings yesterday though, hopefully all wind is out of their sails now.

Mark80 Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 John Elway is a terrible GM. The only good thing he did was convince Peyton to go there. That was it and that was a LONG time ago. 1 hour ago, eball said: Yeah, I'm leaning this way as well.
