How do you think they will do the Playoff Seeding?

with Only 1 Bye I think best way is just to seed based off end of year record regardless of Division Standings.

Division Winners get an Auto in with 3 WC seeds but that 8-8 Division Winner should be seeded lower than a 11-5 WC team don’t you think?

I'd do division leaders tbh - gives a division title some sort of meaning - you get a home playoff game.

Wonder how they'll do tv schedule wildcard weekend with 6 games. I assume you have 2 1 PM and 430 PM games - then do you have sat and sun night? Sun and monday?

The top record would get a bye and the 3 other division winners would host the playoff games vs. the 3 wild cards. The league will want to preserve the value of winning the division.

14 teams in the playoffs? Lame! But it's all about money.

That playoff seeding example is awful. Only the #1 seed gets the bye?

Yeah 1 bye, 3 wildcard games and then everything else is roughly the same.  The #2 seed no longer gets a bye, and the #1 is even more incentive than just home field.

A 1 on CBS

a 4 on Fox

a 730 on NBC.

That’s what is gonna happen with 7 playoff Teams.

Can't blame them... each team only plays 16 games which is by far the lowest.

Yankee stadium seats 47,000 - if they make the playoffs, they'll play a max of 11 home games.  The patriots finish with the best record and they get 2.

Good thing you didn't already post this and it's not being talked about in the other thread....

I posted in there about this too. But I figured the fact it is reported. NFLPA and Owners have agreed on a 17 game schedule and a 14 team playoff I would have a separate thread about how to do the seeding with a 7 team per conference playoff slate

I think that will probably be the way they go. If Not why have divisions in the first place.

personally I would go with record seeding but I think that does end up eliminating Divisions down the line.

but A team in a weak division IE NE now get Huge benefit of having the only bye.

I'm for keeping the 16 games schedule...less is more in the NFL.  Not wild about expanding the playoffs either.

I'm with you on both those points, but no one from the league or the NFLPA asked my opinion.

Top records!

That's how 7 teams would work. #1 in the conference gets a bye.Other division winners are 2-4, Wildcards 5-7.

#2 hosts #7

#3 hosts #6

#4 hosts #5

I think they should get rid of Divisions. Or just go Two divisions in each Conference.

I think they should just do away with divisions all together. Just do a 16 team afc 16 team nfc. You play everyone in your own conference once so every tiebreaker can go head to head and then if they go 17 game season, you play 2 out of conference games every year that go on rotation. Then the playoffs the top seed gets a bye and plays the winner of that 4vs5 game
