The Jokeman Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Another dies from an injury sustained in an Arena league game The dead one The wacko one 301235 and what's worse, the wacko is a former Buffalo Bill.
Buftex Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Two sad stories... I went to an Arena Football game a few weeks ago, with my girlfriend and a some married friends of ours. I remember my friend's wife saying, on a few occaisions, "this game is kind of nuts, somebody is going to get killed out there". I thought she was just being silly. Wow, that is tough. You hate to think of someone dying while trying to entertain people. I figured, if this were a death in the game, it would be a wide reciever. Those guys get nailed, hockey style, against the boards, and fall on a very hard field....very sad...
#89 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Strange thing I just asked someone(after hearing about the girl who died boxing) how many football players actually died playing football. I could not think of one. Dennis Byrd was the last one I rememder who had a serious head injury.

That is when the President (Roosevelt) stepped in and threatened to abolish the sport if steps were not taken to improve safety. I am not sure of any other deaths since those reforms, but it is possible.
stuckincincy Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 In 1971, wr Chuck Hughes of DET collapsed and died (heart attack IIRC) in the field in a game against the Bears. I think there are deaths in HS ball with some frequency.
CoachChuckDickerson Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 The wacko one 301235 So they guy took a couple of shots at Siegfried & Roy's house, and blamed them for secretly plotting the downfall of civilization. What's the problem?
stevestojan Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I know I'm not alone here when I agree that Sigfreid and Roy do threaten the world...
/dev/null Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 and what's worse, the wacko is a former Buffalo Bill. 301239 a former Bill going nutz and trying to kill someone? nah, such a thing could never happen i wonder if he was driving a white bronco...

stevestojan Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 wonder if there will be glove evidence in the Ron Mexico case... 301939 If Cochran was still around, yes: "No Glove, No Love"....
