Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 3, 2019 Share Posted November 3, 2019 If a PAT is blocked, the defense and soon to be recieving team should be given the option to take the ball at the point of recovery/end of return or receive the kickoff. Currently a blocked PAT can be returned for 2 points but there is no other reward. Let's say they recover the ball and tackled near mid-field. They can elect to take the ball there. If the team makes the XP. Make the team start behind the crossbar since that's where the ball was kicked. The league changes rules annually anyway. As an official, I insist it is a business write off for the members of the rules committee. They meet, lodge, eat on someone else's coin.
