McDermott on no trades: "There have been too many years of irresponsible decision-making, let's just put it that way."

Benjamin was a horrible trade while Star is exactly who they thought he would be (a selfless space eater who holds his ground while taking up double teams so other DT's can shine) so I wouldn't lump the two together.  We pry paid more than we should've for Star but we're not exactly in salary cap trouble.

Star and double teamed go together like me and hot chicks. It’s happened but not nearly enough.

The Bills didn’t need to bring in another WR.

Because, this what can be done from within........

Kroft stays healthy and gets a couple of touches per game.

McKenzie is in there on GD and gets a few more touches.

Knox holds onto the ball.

Singletary becomes the feature back.

STOP with the designed QB runs, unless it’s less than a yard or inside the oppositions 5 yard line.

All sounds pretty simple and the Bills don’t have to trade away draft assets to do it.

How about simply running screen plays for Singletary?

0-2 against teams with a winning record

If you counted 4-4 Eagles with a winning record, shouldn't you also count 4-4 Titans? Either way, it's either 0-1 or 1-2.

I think this is right. That was a massively bad trade in retrospect.  I can see being a little gunshy after that debacle.

...sometime a change of scenery works and other times it does not......Hughes worked and he has not let this club down with his work ethic (dumb penalties have been mitigated)....Benjamin came here and his work ethic was NOT.....was hoping his water would break so he'd make weight...STILL hasn't...bet he's NT shape by now......

I’m glad they didn’t throw away high picks for a player that may or may not stay.

they didn’t get fleeced and they have their pics.

Goodwin has had 1 decent season out of 7 years in the NFL.  That was 2 years ago.  Watkins had 2 good seasons with  EJ Manual, Tyrod Taylor, and Kyle Orton.  That 4 and 5 years ago.  Woods I liked but he reportedly wanted to go back home and even he has only had one season over 1k yards so far.  Good group compared to the scrubs we had last year but not really all that much better than what we have right now.

Maybe if the Bills threw to them too in 2016 (and Watkins healthy) we'd have seen what they had.

Point is why would any offensive player want to come play in McClappity's 14-17 points or bust offense?

you mean like when Beasley picked the bills over the pats this offseason?

because that happened.

No because it is pretty obvious how the board reacts whenever McClappity says something.

I want to see exciting offensive football, wins and to be entertained.  Going between 6-10 & 9-7 as the Bills do year after year, and this regime refusing to concentrate or have a high powered offense that can score in the high 20's-30's (heck have only scored over 20 is three games (28, 21 & 31 with a defensive TD) doesn't make for fun or any longterm winning football imo.

They almost completely rebuilt the offense this off season and are still missing some pieces, as well as continuity that comes with playing together. In spite of your assertions to the contrary, they have tried to turn this into a passing offense, and, to be honest, the primary difference between scoring 19 PPG (that they are now) and 30 PPG (and dominating lesser opponents) are drive ending mistakes, penalties, and turnovers -  18 drives inside the opponents 40 yard line in 7 games with 0 points..  If they would have just gotten a field goal on 15 of those drives, they would be averaging 25 PPG.  I anticipate it will improve some this year and take a big leap next year with the addition of more pieces.

BTW, what's with the "McClappity?" Seriously? You sound like you are emotionally stunted at 10 years old.

Didn't we just pick up John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Tyler Kroft?

I’m sure money had nothing to do with it.

I love the Bills but there’s zero percent he choose us if the money was equal or close.

Come on with Kroft though.

The most irresponsible trade, was when McDermott decided to trade down, instead of taking Mahomes or Watson. Also, our current GM has traded up every year. Whether it was for Allen and Edmunds, or Zay Jones (hi Ju Ju Smith Schuster).... but let's not trade for a guy like AJ Greene, because that would be irresponsible..ok McDermott.

Yeah we can start with you passing on Watson and Mahomes.

Yes, let's start there.

The Bills have a better record than both of those teams.
And Mahomes is injured.

Does this not include signing Star in 2018 to a 5 year 50M contract with 24.6M guaranteed?  Or Mitch Morse to a 4 year 44.5M contract with 26M guaranteed?

Mitch Morse and Star are not a BIG splashes.  $100 Million to Mario Williams is a Big splash.

Right, because combined point differential is always the first stat you bring up when assessing coaches.

Current regime is always the best, following a process that takes time, doing it their way etc. People will ignore any data that may show that they are not doing a good job.

We are 5-2 and that gets used as evidence McD is doing great. Honestly - pick any of the Bills teams from the past 10 years or so. I would bet money that nearly all of them would also be 5-2 with this schedule. We have not had any teams as bad as this years CIN, MIA, NYY. Most of those teams would have beat these NYG and TEN teams. Some would have beat PHI and some would have lost. All basically would have lost to NE. Essentially any Bills team of the past would be between 6-1 and 4-3.

They tell us all the time that they want to build this thing through the draft.  The only outlier is if they see value in adding talent.  Adding AJ Green would obviously help the offense but not worth giving up premium picks.  Would you rather have AJ Green for 2 years or a legit CB to play opposite White?  Or how about a DT who can run block?  Or a DE that can get sacks?  Or a 21 year old 1st round receiver?  This team still has holes and you can't give up multiple premium picks to fill one hole.
