T&C Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Skanky chick with a set of big pipes... fun for a few years. Probably will always be know for Cheap Thrills. Still, Country Joe is still alive so he avoided the worst that was probably in that muffin. Rock Cheap Thrills every month or so... loudly.
Doc Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Janis Joplin would be a "no" for me, not a maybe.
Gugny Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 A generational talent taken from us far too soon. 1
TSNBDSC Posted October 29, 2019 Author Posted October 29, 2019 Bessie_Smith Music_Of_Bessie_Smith_HBO A bit dated but wow what a voice.
The Poojer Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 i'm so confused, sounds like she's singing in english, but the subtitles are in what appears to be spanish....what kind of trickery is that....and hell yes!!!!!!
JoeF Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 My 7 year old son and I recently were on a long drive. My playlist is Janis, Jimi and Amy Winehouse...one by one he asks are they still alive and then, how did they die. He says, I guess you need to be addicted to something in order to make great music" I said, no, but it helps, I guess. All taken far too soon. 1

Dr. Who Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 I think the truth is that art is often the product of being wounded. It may not be necessary, but it's not uncommon. The addiction is part of attempts to deal with the pain. 1
