Bunch of Eagles fans at the game all over the stadium.  Pretty much a neutral field today

It was awful. Part of it is the bandwagon effect. I teach classes at a college in Oklahoma and polled my students to see what NFL teams are cheered for in a fairly neutral area (most of our students are natives of Oklahoma or Dallas, Texas). There were 3 Eagles fans for every fan of any other team combined in the league out of my ~250 students. In what should be either neutral ground or Cowboys territory for the few NFL fans that exist.

“They are gonna lose some games” because that’s what mediocre teams do. Don’t you want more than mediocrity?

Of course we all want that as fans. Doesn’t mean we’re gonna get it though. I’ll take a winning record and a playoff berth. The tricky thing about this fan business is that we pretty much have to live with what the team’s owners and FO decide to do. If not, we can always find another team that meets our expectations. Trouble is, theres  something hollow to me in just deciding to root for the Pats*.

5-2.  Take a breath.

Nice to be 5-2 and feel they haven’t played their best yet

Bills fans before the year: A 5-2 start would be great

Bills fans now: OMG FIRE EVERYONE

We ALL would have taken 5-2 if you asked us before the year. Beat Washington next week and you are at 6-2. 10 wins gets you in the AFC Wild Card this year so go 4-4 in the 2nd half and you *should* be good.

Does this team have issues it has to work out? Yes. Are they a Super Bowl contender this year? Probably not. But I didn't see anyone saying they were to start the year. Of course you get into the Playoffs and anything can happen. But some people need to get off the ledge.

What schedule are you talking about? It’s year three of McDermott, second year under Allen. The time to strike is when the QB is on his rookie contract. And yet this team looks exactly like they did a year ago. The only difference has been crappy opponents. There is no progress.

LMAO ‘crappy opponents’. They’re 5-2. Last season at week 8 they were what, 2-6? But waaaaaah no progress you guys kill me, so emotional over a loss?unless you had dreams of 15-1...get over it. They had a bad day and it cost them, that’s the whole story until next week

Such a typical attitude within this fanbase.

To say they are no better than last year is just stupid.  They are 5-2.  Math.

Now, do they have things to fix and work on?  Obviously.  But to come on here and rant about how Allen is terrible and McD is terrible and so on is just crazy.

I love how most folks here are totally cool with losing and "being on schedule" for success, at some undefined, distant, mirky, future point in time.

Never mind that it's not 1983 anymore and this is a win now league.

Have to disagree. The 5 wins are against teams that are a combined 7-30 at this point, and none of the wins were dominating. In fact, I'd argue the Bills' best game was the loss to the Patriots. Fortunately, their next four games are against bad to awful teams, but the last 5 will pose some problems. In any event, if the Bills are ahead of schedule, being a SB contender must be scheduled quite a ways in the future.

They weren’t going to be in the Super Bowl this year, they do not have the talent on offense. They are set up for a run at a championship next season and always have been. Most people understood this at beginning of season.

No one is cool with today’s loss.  Don’t be a moron.

I guess I’m just not certain what the fan base has to do with the product on the field. As far as I can tell, the impact is zero.

Folks love a winner...preferably a current winner.

Nothing new there.

That’s not how this league works.

This is a pretty realistic assessment. While they made some big changes on the O, it was because they had little worth keeping. They’re still a stud WR and a tackle away ( at least ) on offense, and the D needs an elite pass rusher. That doesn’t mean they can’t still improve this year and even make the playoffs. I doubt anyone thought this roster was championship caliber right now.

Yep.

It amazes me that year after year following a loss the same posters ALWAYS say the Bills players/coaches/front office stink, are pathetic etc.  And NEVER acknowledge that the other team just might be better.

Philly was the bigger, better and more experience team heading into the game--and the results showed it.   Does that mean the Bills should just roll over and forget about the remaining nine games?   Apparently some posters here would say yes to that...

In his post game presser, McDermott pretty much said that the OL was getting pushed back so we couldn’t run.

Shouldn’t this be something the right play calling can counter and take advantage of, at least to some extent?

I dunno that just sounded like an excuse to me.

Yeah. While the Bills defensive line didn't play well, most of the Eagles big hits on the ground were also the result of creative play calling that had the defense going in the wrong direction. Pederson is a terrific offensive mind. I'm growing tired of saying person X "needs to do better" offensively. Not advocating for firing anyone so the outrage crowd can calm down; I do think it's safe to say Daboll is no Doug Pederson.

How does it work then ? The Niners appear to be for real after a few drafts and FA acquisitions , and they don’t have a QB on a rookie deal either. I don’t think there’s just one way to get it done.
