Rico Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Love seeing Lennon > Macca. Van's too low. Dylan (when he was on with his phrasing & timing) could be higher. No Johnny Rotten is ridiculous, he is spectacular on Bollocks. 1

He is on Desire and Blood on the Tracks... but for the most part he is what he is, like you said, a great songwriter. I think we all became so familiar with the sound of his voice that it was ok... I could say that that's where I'm at. Lay Lady Lay is also pretty good as far as a pop single goes.
Nextmanup Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 Bob Dylan at #7? I'd rather swallow glass than listen to him sing anything. 1 2

Great musician, top guitarist, below average singer. Honestly, you have to include Toots Hibbert if you're going to have Bob Marley in there. And no Brad Nowell, ok fine but that is RS showing their musical snobbery. Sublime wasn't a great band but he had a ton of vocal talent.

millbank Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 We’re the hell is Perry Como, Dean Martin , and Frank Sinatra ? Good Lord ! 1
Johnny Hammersticks Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I don’t have the time to scroll through the entire list. Where in the top 5 is Meatloaf?? 1
row_33 Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 a assume a few of us on here are old enough to remember when RS meant something of use to a way of life
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 apparently those that created that list were not listening to the same music I was.
SinceThe70s Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I assume that Lemmy barely missed out at #101.
Bills4everNY Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 (edited) No Noddy Holder? Ozzy has said that Noddy has one of the greatest voices in rock. Edited October 22, 2019 by Bills4everNY
Greybeard Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 It is not a list of singers, it's a list of artists. Artist being vague enough to allow them to create a list as disoriented as this one. 1
row_33 Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 is this please please please the last time i'm going to be inflicted with another RS list? 1
Alaska Darin Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I'd ask what the criteria is but from the list, there clearly isn't one. I doubt even ONE singer ever was influenced by Bob Dylan's vocals.
Rob's House Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I can't argue with Stevie Wonder in the top 10. I mean, what would the history of music be without such timeless classics as "Part-time Lover" and "I Just Called to Say I Love You?" Lest I forget the masterpiece that is "Jungle Fever."

When I got engaged, my fiancé (now my wife of 34 years) signed us up for dance lessons so that we would look good when we danced at our wedding. Little known fact: “l Just Called to Say I Love You” is in 3/4 time, so you can waltz to it.
