Billsfan1972 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) As were the Monsters of the Midway or the 2000 Ravens and the Bills can not win every game 17-13? Today we saw Miami almost beat them and if not for a bad Int at the goal line (and subsequent 98 yard drive) and a bad fumble the Bills again play to their competition. This trying to control the clock and game between the 20's is a dangerous recipe and the Bills need to know how to score in the high 20's. Edited October 21, 2019 by Billsfan1972 5 1 2
Sundancer Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 You need a bye week. The defense is very good and the strength of this team. They are not "legendary." The team is 5-1 and took the Dolphins best shot today and won by 10. 3 1 1
Big Turk Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Ehh, they had a tough game coming off the bye and without Milano...im not worried about them. 3 1 1
Bubba Gump Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 They looked like poop until the 4th qtr. They had a bad day and really really missed Milano today. 1
JM57 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 They're very good with Milano. They are not very good with "Maurice Alexander". LB depth is a problem. 3 2
RiotAct Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 even the 2000 Ravens had a couple stinkers. Gave up 36 to the Jaguars in an early-season game. 2
thronethinker Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 But the D in fact did its job and stopped Miami from blowing the game wide open. I will say that Milano was missed out there especially against the run. How can you defend against a QB who is letting it rip within 2 seconds of the snap. Fitz did what he does and it propelled Miami to the near upset. You think there was some secret D play that would have stopped those passes? 1
Boatdrinks Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 No one in their right mind compared this year’s Bills D to the 2000 Ravens. In the current NFL, they can put a team in great position to win a lot of games. They’re winning while the offense is still figuring things out. There are worse things that could happen. 1 1
Teddy KGB Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) One week overreaction? Okay Who called them the 85 bears or 00 Ravens btw ? ?????? Edited October 21, 2019 by Teddy KGB 1
Billsfan1972 Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) Miami had scored 42 points prior to today & seemed pretty competent on Offense (on the road no less) against a Defense that had some here going on and on about as the best in the league. 2 minutes ago, Teddy KGB said: One week overreaction? Okay Who called them the 85 bears or 00 Ravens btw ? ?????? Many were calling them the best in the 2019 NFL (or top 3)...... And McDermott coaches the Offense as if they are and can win every game 14-10.. Edited October 21, 2019 by Billsfan1972
CSBill Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I do wish they would blitz more, and be more creative when they do. 2

Yeah bye weeks can kind of screw up things...they won. There are no style points. Its a week to week league. 1

The Bills defense is pretty good, one of the better units in the NFL. They had an off day by their current standards. They will never be confused with the ‘85 bears or the 2000 Ravens.

Beast Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 OP, why wasn’t this posted earlier, at any time, this season? 1
thronethinker Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 In todays NFL with the current rules the 85 Bears and 00 Ravens wouldn’t compare to their former selves if they were to take the field now. 4 1 1
Gray Beard Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Not really an excuse, but Miami receivers caught a lot of contested passes, and passes that weren’t that great. The Bills still don’t have big, strong, mean, fast receivers. Duke isn’t fast, but he’s got most of those other characteristics covered. He needs more targets (assuming he’s healthy).

So do I, but it’s just not in their defensive philosophy. An elite DE obviously helps the rush and it’s their main weakness , as well as LB depth. Edited October 21, 2019 by Boatdrinks
jimmy10 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I love the logic of these types of posts. “Take away all the good things they did and they didn’t do anything good.” 1 2 1
