"Optics" is not a synonym for "appearances". Optics is the branch of physics that studies light.

"Optics" has better optics, though.

How about “secrecy”

When committee Republicans are in interviews, the Republicans still claim it’s secret investigations. Stupid

Great, if this "inquiry" is not being done in secret behind closed doors, then there's no reason to continue to withhold the transcripts of testimony.

You know, unless those transcripts undermine the selective leaks and obviously-bullschiff narrative that's trying to be presented.

When Nunes was chair during the Mueller probe and Russia investigations, the minority had a vote on everything, including subpoenas. All sides were welcomed to partake in not only closed door hearings and testimony, but public ones as well.

Schiff takes over, changes the rules (as is their right per House rules).

Because when the left loses they don't reassess, they change the rules to rig the game in their favor. We're seeing that same thing play out here.

On the bright side, the whining from the Democrats will be epic when the GOP eventually retakes the House and keeps these same rules in place to exclude the minority from everything.

"I speak for the American People" by Pelosi in particular, but ANYONE not of the executive branch or hasn't won a recent NATIONAL election. It pisses me off that anyone would have the gall to speak for me that I had no say to put in office or keep out. She represents a tiny part, about 800 thousand like every other member of the House.

This is funny, because an impeachment is a constitutional remedy to a problem.

A coup is is an unconstitutional take over.

Stop repeating Trump crude propaganda!

Alright alright.  Stop calling a back door coup an impeachment.

Thank you! I was just saying the same thing to someone the other day. Adam Sh&$ wasn’t elected by anyone other than a few City blocks worth of people in and around Los Angeles. He doesn’t represent me or my vote. How we’ve elevated members of the House (not even Senators) to the national microphone is beyond me!

In it's modern form.  Newt Gingrich "Contract with America."  That's how.

(Though you could as easily make a case for Ted Kennedy riding Jack and Bobby's coat-tails.  And probably a few others.)

I disagree with the Contract analogy. That was a policy position based on electing Republicans as a group, not singulary. These days we’re seeing individual Members our championing individual causes and issues.

Using it less as an example than as a convenient calendar marker.  But he's the Congresscritter who became a national figure turning political difference into an interpersonal grudge match at a national level.

still a terrible analogy… Even today Gingrich uses a lot of "We" when referring to the party past or present. Pelosi on the other hand is the opposite, like Obama; it's all about "me/I/singular

Scientists would most likely form a consensus* that you are incapable of feeling pain.

*First time real scientists approve of "consensus" being used to prove a point.
