Kirby Jackson Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 There are a bunch of threads out there on specific players that are “available.” It seems to make sense to consolidate some of those with the deadline approaching and some big deals already occurring. If you could make 1 trade for the Bills at this point what would it be? Give the actual realistic parameters of the deal as well. I will go first and it may be controversial: a 2nd and Cody Ford to Washington for Trent Williams. Ford is still a young player but doesn’t look to me like he will ever be a tackle. Williams gives the Bills book ends and a really good OL. Washington takes the pick plus the young OL as part of their rebuild. He can instantly replace Flowers and give them something to work with. What deals are you guys making? 3 1

It would be a waste of everyone’s time if someone came here and said “I’d give a future 7th for Julio” and then 26 people call him an idiot. Let’s try to have a real discussion. 1
Coach Tuesday Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 That’s realistic Kirb?? There is zero chance McBeane trades Ford halfway into his rookie season. I’d trade a 4th to Atlanta for Austin Hooper. 2
HiddenInLight Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 For Williams, I don't think I would do a 2nd unless we've spoken to him and know hes in game shape and willing to actually show up. Also, Ford + a 2nd is way too much. 2

I like OJ Howard at the right price too. 2
JoPar_v2 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 I honestly don’t think there’s a “realistic” move to be made that significantly helps the team. Maybe Trent Williams, if Washington completely reverses course and comes to their senses. I would not give up Ford though. 1

What deals are you guys making? This is implied and you do it here, but I'd just like to add - part of the realism is to indicate how a roster spot is cleared. Do we cut someone else? Make a 2nd trade to move them elsewhere for a pick? Etc 1
DCofNC Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 I'd drop a first for Williams, he could be the difference between a lot of wins and losses. Allen has been under pressure a lot of the edge and frankly, thats when the stupid button gets pushed. I think Williams could stop a lot of that. You get 5 years from a first rounder, if they work out and then its big money time. We have seen plenty that don't work out, I'd take 4-5 years of a proven stud at this point. I'd also try to get OBJ if he really is on the table, you are going to have to pay for him, but again a first and probably a 4th would be worth it for pretty much everything I said above except now you have an elite weapon. The fact Clowney isnt wearing a Bills uniform right now tells me all of this is not realistic as that was the trade that should have been made. 1 minute ago, Hapless Bills Fan said: This is implied and you do it here, but I'd just like to add - part of the realism is to indicate how a roster spot is cleared. Feliciano and Spain are going to need money the next off season and only one will get it because Ford is playing on cheap money for the next few years. I doubt that any of this is lost on Beane. 1

My gut tells me they let Spain walk. He’s on a one year deal and I’ll bet they try moving Ford to LG. Feliciano will need a raise though. 7 1
BillsVet Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Buffalo trades a 3rd and perhaps 5th for a WR with contract term in 2020. Or, perhaps a 4th for a receiver who is a rental in 2019. Not going to get hopes up on AJ Green, but there are others The NFL trade deadline continues emerging as a method to build teams. If Buffalo can make a deal in 2017, surely they can do something similar in 2019.
colin Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 diggs or green would be big at WR. Any starter OT would work, i don't know who else could be out there besides Williams. depending on their hammies, maybe OLB or RB would make sense, but i don't think that's reasonable and im guessing they will heal
The Wiz Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 (edited) I'd like to see them trade the train horn back to the stampeding buffaloes It could happen... Edited October 16, 2019 by The Wiz 4 1 1

What deals are you guys making? I don't think Beane trades Ford this early. If he doesn't work out at tackle, I could see them putting him at LG replacing Spain. Spain is on a one year contract and I think he could get decent money as an UFA this coming offseason. Would love to keep him but we can't keep everyone with big contracts coming up in a year or two. I think realistically....Emmanuel Sanders for a 4th. 1
thenorthremembers Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 I would trade a 3rd, at the highest a 2nd for A.J. Green. Not like they've been making a lot out of 2nd round picks as of late, nothing ventured nothing gained. 1
LB3 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 (edited) 1st and a 4th for Mike Evans when the Bucs realize Winston ain't the guy and decide to rebuild. Edited October 16, 2019 by LBSeeBallLBGetBall 9 1

buffswagger017 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Mike Evans yes, 1st and 4th maybe a 6th
JoshAllenHasBigHands Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 It is hard to get excited about in-season trades. It usually takes guys a full off season to make a contribution in the new system. For example, look at our defense. They are where they are because they have been together for multiple years. Bringing in a new guy just isn't going to change the trajectory of the offense. 1
