Inigo Montoya Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 (edited) I'm not sure what's going on, but the AFC has been taking it on the chin so far this season. The only two winless teams are in the AFC, the Phins and the Bengals. 9 out of the 16 teams in the AFC are at less than .500 after six games. (The Chargers can get to .500 tonight if they beat the Steelers) If the Patriots don't collapse down the stretch and we catch them to win the division title outright, we should be in good position for one of the Wild Card spots come playoff time. The Bills might end up in a situation where they're playing on the road against a division winner in the Wild Card round and the Bills have the better record. We just need to keep depositing wins in the bank every week and pull away from the rest of the conference. With our schedule the rest of the way (only 4 of the remaining 11 games we play are against teams with a winning record at this point), and an infusion of talent into our offense with Singletary, Kroft, Duke, and Foster getting back on the field for the second half of the season, I think we have a real shot to get to the AFC Championship game this year. I can't think of a team other than NE that we wouldn't beat on a neutral field. 1 minute ago, Mark Vader said: One game at a time, Inigo. RiotAct Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 I could totally see us playing at Baltimore wild card weekend. 4-5 matchup. I think the Texans will pull away and win the South with an 11-5ish record for the 3rd seed. 1

Couldn't agree more, hence the bolded and underlined passage from my post. I think the Bills will do well keeping their focus on each week with McDermott preaching the gospel of going 1-0 each week to them, and it's not like this team is used to winning and will start to take it for granted. I think they will continue to scrap. Edited October 14, 2019 by Inigo Montoya 3
Buffarukus Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 your right and whats really concerning about this is it seems patriots have a easy pass to go to there 4rth straight superbowl and eclipse our record because they acctually won them. GOD DO I HATE THEM!!! we are in prime position to stop them so i guess its put up or shut up. no more rebuild. no more next year. NOW!! 2

So if their fans start looking ahead, it could affect how the Bills play against, say, Miami, even if the team remains focused? How does that work?
Seven-N-Nine Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 It's too early to start planning playoff parties and whatnot. Just now, mannc said: So if their fans start looking ahead, it could affect how the Bills play against, say, Miami, even if the team remains focused? How does that work? No, it has nothing to do with how the Bills play, it's just fans setting themselves up to be crushed.

Funny. I said something similar in the thread about the Jets game. I think "depositing wins" is what I was talking about. The Bills just know how to win. They have a knack for it. They need to stick to business. It feels way too early to me to be thinking all the Bills could end up a wild card team with a better record than the division winner they play. Could it happen? Yes, and describe how it might. But it's much likely that some part of your scenario won't play out as you say. More likely that the Bills are genuinely only the 5th or 6th best team in the playoffs, or even not in the playoffs at all. As for the rest of the AFC, I wouldn't be so sure. We're seeing some real shifts going on, teams winning that didn't look like winners a couple weeks ago. A lot of new QBs making plays, and a lot of "established" strugglin. Things are changing in the league. So I don't think there's any predicting of how strong or weak teams are. I mean, you watch Darnold today, and if someone told you the Jets could be good enough to finish 9-7, I'm not at all sure that's preposterous. 1

PatsFanNH Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Imo the Bills are the second best team in the AFC. I dare say top 3 in the NFL. 1. Patriots. Strength is D, and weakness is their O line. 2. SF Strength is D and weakness is there O? (I need help I haven’t seen anything but their highlights) 3. Buffalo strength is D weakness I would say is QB.. because he throws to many Interceptions. (Doesn’t mean he is bad or should be replaced but the weakness I see)
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 While true. The NFC ain’t what she used to be either the Seahawks are not great, the Rams are looking more ewes than ?, the cowboys lol, Philly also lost etc. 1

Nextmanup Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Let's be honest. This season will be a tremendous disappointment if the Bills do not make the playoffs. We are off to a great start, our schedule is straight up easy, we have a solid top 3 Defense, and the AFC is as weak as I have ever seen it. 4 1

The Chiefs just lost two games in a row on their home field. And we have a much better defense than either of those teams they lost to. I think NE is going to destroy them. 2
CLTbills Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Buffalo has sole possession of 2nd in the conference. If not for our ***** special teams.......?

And I wouldnt be surprised to see Seattle come out of the NFC, either. 1
