"That's why they play the games".

"They were who we thought they were, but we let them off the hook".

What isn't a cliche in the modern NFL?

The press conferences

Windowless room

Disinterested coach, win or lose

Brightly colored sponsor background

The NFL pre-game shows

$5,000 in tailored suits and $1,000 in leather pants and heels for the ladies

Shouting

Pre-game reports from inside the empty stadium

NFL Coach Attire

Two front war on buttons and ironing

Maybe met the washer last night, maybe not

Clearance rack items on fanatics.com

Could be coaching an NFL game or raking leaves after lunch

It ain’t over til the fat lady sings.

Statistics are for losers.

Buckle up buttercup...oops that’s politics. Meant ‘fasten your seatbelts.’

Trust the process.

There’s always next year.

You got to be in it, to win it.

When it rains, it pours.

(Hey, both of those could justify a TWSS response. ? )

The fullback is obsolete in today’s NFL.

"Foot speed". Good thing you cleared that up, otherwise I might have confused it with "mouth speed"

"That's a great football play". Um, yes this is a football game.

"The ground can't cause a fumble." Of course it can.

"Indisputable" . Anything can be disputed.

Most of the others have already been mentioned, such as "110 %"  But i think I'm forgetting a couple more.

"The best ability is availability"

My absolute favorite.

My least favorite: "If you give (name a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback) time, he will pick you apart."

Gee...so a guy who's been throwing a football since 8-year-old Punt, Pass and Kick competition straight through high school and four years at Ohio State can complete a lot of passes in the NFL if he has the time? Wow. How insightful.
