Every week there are numerous posts about how each game is not very important because it is only one of sixteen games.

These posters don’t really grasp the concept.   Every loss is a nail in the coffin. Realistically a team  only can afford six losses. If the Browns  lose tonight nine of the sixteen afc teams will be halfway or more to elimination .

Actually, a Niners win only helps the Browns chances in a potential tie break scenario.  Surprised you didn't know that.?

A loss makes them a full game further from a tie breaker being relevant.

but if they lose to the niners, it actually helps them in the tie breaking process.  So a browns win would help because it hurts them in the case of a tie breaker.

Damn you for beating me to this.  We need Cleveland to win this in the worst way.

could you explain? because tiebreakers usually relate to conference records and last time I checked they play in the NFC

Beating an NFC team ALWAYS hurts your chances at making the playoffs. I heard it right here.

But....what affect does it have on comp picks? THAT should be our primary concern here.

Football 101.

Tough to know if the Browns will be in contention for a playoff spot yet. They've been pretty mediocre. But it always makes sense to root for NFC over AFC teams just in case.

the browns have a cakewalk schedule in the last half of the season.

I can actually relate to and have empathy for Browns fans....unless it has any chance of hurting the Bills! Sorry Brownies, hoping you go down!

I believe it's a joke.  We had a poster here who said stuff like that, one spawn time.

And I tried like hell to figure out the “logic” behind that post. Why I did that, I don’t know. But really...I did.

Dude what are you talking about?  Wins and losses have absolutely nothing to do with comp picks.  Learn a little football bro.

Everyone knows you get comp picks by recycling old tires and Hammer's used nudie magazines.
