What are we missing offensively?

it’s the way Allen being coached and the way Defenses are currently playing Allen.

defenses are playing to make Allen complete passes in areas he struggled last year and sustain the drives. Eventually Teams will allow the shots. Now when that happens Allen cannot miss the WR by 5 yards like he has been so far this season on those shots

The WR he is namely missing those shots with is Zay Jones

I just dont think they have a chemistry with that pass.....I dont know what it is...we know he can throw it because he was throwing it to Robert Foster last year.

Speaking of which....Robert Foster needs to play.....Zay Jones needs to sit or be traded.   I always like the thought of another draft pick in Beans hands because he knows what to do with them.

Duke WIlliams should be a red zone target specialist.

I think they can survive with Nsekhe, but like you said another threat opposite John Brown puts this offense over the top. John Brown is playing great football though. They need to be able to stretch the field. A Julio Jones type receiver. Hell, get me a poor mans Julio and we're good. Don't waste this defense.

Nsekhe can't physically handle a full season. (His knee)

he has a good arm but have never seen him throw farther than 60 yds--which a good high schooler can do.

OK but look at the zip his passes have on the last 5 yards of a deep through. Often this is a better indication of arm strength than pure distance.

True TOP WR talent. Guys who can get open, make plays, and who are hungry for the ball.

I think the playcalling has been decent. Allen isnt perfect but coming along.

But he doesnt have a guy he can trust to make a play on a deep ball downfield. AJ Green MADE Daltons career because when in doubt, Dalton puts it up. Same with the way Ryan can just put it up to wherever Julio is. Allen tried that with Zay in the Pats game and it backfired on him every time. To the point that Zay wouldnt even play DB and break up the INT. And that is why Zay only got 1 snap yesterday.

See above. Zay is soft and doesnt battle for the ball. If it isnt perfect he just gives up. He stood and watched a Pat make the INT right in front of him.

I think a true #1 WR is the main thing missing. Getting Singeltary back will change the offense up a bit as well.

Duke Williams looks like an improvement over Zay though, which gives us another decent option.

Main thing is Josh cutting down on errors and reckless plays. Yes he had the interception. But other than that play... 2 TD passes, no fumbles, no head first dives into traffic when running. He also tucked the ball a lot better when he was running. Not pulling that Shady move where he’s out there with it just in his hand waving around.

We will have a relatively low draft pick next season (I hope) so I think we could snag one of the best available WR's in the draft ala OBJ.  That could be the ticket to having a true number one WR.  Another option is signing one of the best FA wr's next season:

1. Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints

2. Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs

3. Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys

4. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals

5. Robby Anderson, New York Jets

these last two weeks we did see the exact same defense. Vrabel coaches the defense in Tenn the same way BB did.

the shots have been there. Over these first 5 weeks just when Josh has taken them he missed

He's 0-8 on deep balls. Most of those plays the receiver was open. He's gotta put more trajectory on his deep throws and even if its slightly underthrown your wr still has a 50/50 ball. More arc Josh, drop it in the basket.

Missing a dynamic Running Game

Catching the ball out of the back field --- We are not able to move the chains with this play after Week 1.

And of course the WRs getting separation

? many of those were thrown off the back foot without setting his feet!

This is where I am too.  The biggest issue right now is his inconsistency.  The Bills have had a lot of long drives (75+), and they have been very good at cashing in once in the RZ.  The issue has been the TOs and the misses on the deep opportunities.

That said, I think Singletary and Foster will provide more big plays when they return, and Duke gives them a sure-handed big target.  It's also relatively early in the season, and I still expect them to get better and better as Josh gets better and better.  The Pass D rankings of their next three HOME opponents are 31, 27, and 23, so I expect we'll see their stats on O improve.

If they do make a trade, I hope it doesn't cost more than one of their 5 5th and 6th rounders.

Josh is still much lacking in experience. What he DOES have is an absolute cannon for an arm. That said, he does not have a legit deep threat which would certainly loosen up opposing defenses, and in that sense even help the ground game.

The Bills are very close to being a complete, balanced football team.  Josh is gaining experience and when he gets a deep threat, anything is possible.

Not so sure. We have 1 loss. How many would we have if we kept McCoy? None, or more than 1?

Josh also needs to recognize where that blitzer is coming from and make teams pay

Thomas And Hill have both re-signed with their teams (although I wouldn’t want Hill personally).

Green I would attempt to trade for now. If they can get him, then you try to re-sign him for a big money, shorter term deal.

but I think the main option is this loaded receiver class.

I think that having Duke out there as an actual receiving threat will help open up opportunities for Brown in the deep throw game, that alone could loosen up coverages on the opposing Ds enough to prompt bigger chunk pass plays, and more scoring. Dukes being on the field and needing to be accounted for in a bigger way than ZJ was,  will also help Beasley’s game a lot.

Go Bills!!!

This.  Having a 3rd WR who is a legit threat to catch the ball should help loosen things up.  Also getting Singletary back would add a speed dimension that is lacking in run game.

A WR who can consistently win 1 on 1 and dictate coverage to open more opportunities for Brown / Beasley / Knox & co.  Absent that, a true game breaker at RB.

I don't think this can be overstated, this offense looks more wide open and much tougher to defend when this is the case. This team could be really tough on offense with this type of receiver.
