Sitting here thinking about when Trent Edwards got crushed in Arizona years back and how it basically ruined the kid. We all know Josh has the skill set to be the leader of this team . I just hope this hit doesn’t scare the game out of him like it did to Trent.

It's a distinct possibility.  We can only hope JA emerges from concussion protocol with all his marbles, and that his career is not over.

Except his best game as a Bill came the game he came back from the concussion.

Why does this keep getting repeated? He wasn't shell shocked, he got figured out.

Josh just doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to let that happen. Everything about his story points to a guy who doesn’t give up and who believes in himself. I don’t think lack confidence will be something that does Josh in.

Let’s all hope this is but a small blip on a very long productive career for Josh. Get healthy big guy!

Did you watch Allen run off the field like he was expecting to return to the game?  There is zero chance that he becomes too shell-shocked going forward.  I'm more concerned that he's gonna get himself killed out there.

He had one fluke game after coming back vs a terrible defense, I think the thesis he was ruined is correct

Except it's not.

Also, for what it's worth, Edwards really never looked to have the killer instinct Josh possesses.

Josh is too driven and too tough to let that concussion ruin him.  The one on Trent was a brutal hit from the blind side while in the pocket.  I am sure he heard footsteps after that as captain check down emerged.

I went to that game, rode my motorcycle from LA to Phoenix, it was like 130 degrees (thats high desert between them cities!).

i remember walking into the stadium with pride, tons of Bills fans all around, got to our seats and it was like the second play? wham! TE down and we get pummeled.

if any of you have been to that stadium, there's a city walk like setup right across the street, bars, restaurants and shops and they were open all night, so adding insult to injury I got absolutely hammered; shots were in the mix and i'm a beer only guy.  I tried to hook my buddy up with this chick (they eventually got together) while dragging her around trying to find him a bouncer intervened, I punched him out, got thrown out of the bar (3 guys literally threw me, my head scraped on the pavement; i deserved it tho) and woke up on the hotel floor with my shirt pulled over my head.  my buddy said he needed the hotel staff to help get me to the room.

the last of my misery?  i had to ride home, hungover as heck, 7 hours in 130 degrees, in the desert and i didnt have a windshield yet (i was too young and cool for that back then).

when i came to my senses a couple of days later i contacted the bar to apologize and pay for my tab that i never closed, they just charged me $75 as they couldn't find it.

F that game, seriously, F it.

anyway - I'm confident JA is not TE in any regard, dumb decisions, yes, but he's fearless and that's already 1000x NOT TE, he'll get it turned around, he's got too many people pulling for him.

Trent's shot he took from Wilson was way more violent than this one as he was plowed by an untouched blitzer off of the edge. He also had to be carted off of the field. Allen jogged off of the field under his own power. I don't think this effects him as a passer as it did Trent who saw ghosts from that point on in his career. It may make Josh rethink his running style though which may actually be beneficial in the long run.

The only  thing comparable between Edwards and Allen is the panic amongst Bills fans to each after about the same number of starts to their young careers.

Bills fans weren’t patient with Edwards (rightly so) and are now throwing the towel in on Allen.

Allen had a bad game for sure against NE, but his coaches didn’t help him either as the constant empty backfield was maddening. That made it so easy for BB to blitz the heck out of a young QB, with little resistance.

i will be patient with Allen. How about other fans?

Anyone throwing the towel in on allen is an idiot.

And that's not really up for debate.
