I know some people will never understand it and they may  feel it was still too much to give up, and many do, BUT THEY DID NOT GIVE UP 2 FIRST ROUNDERS!!!! THEY SWITCHED FIRSTS AND THEN GAVE THEM A FIRST ROUNDER. Why is that so difficult to comprehend. Personally I was hoping they were going to draft Mack with the pick.

And then we used a first round pick to draft him. You still only get the one player for that pick.

2014 1st rounder  + 2015 first rounder = Sammy Watkins in a Bills uniform.

He cost us a total asset investment of 2 first round picks.

Meanwhile, we could have had

Mike Evans for the same price

OBJ for 1 pick

Brandin Cooks for 1 pick

Devante Adams for 1 pick

Jarvis Landry for 1 pick

Allen Robinson for 1 pick.

Now, obviously hindsight is 20-20 and there’s only so much we can fault them for. That being said, trading up to select what is one of the deepest positions of the draft is never smart.

How about we wait on spending 1st rounders on wrs until we find out we have a qb

How about you are never going to find a QB unless you give him talented receivers to work with?

Did you say the same about Andre Reed when he complained about not getting enough passes thrown his way...or when Thurman would complain he wasn't getting the ball enough?

Source? Links? Exactly...

It's a completely different era with the social media circus that DIVA's play games behind = pass

The guy is getting paid top 10 WR $$$ in the league and starting to create friction in the locker room and front office. Just what the Bills need to give up a 1st rd pick for and crazy cap? What happens when Allen doesn't give him 10+ targets a game?

Please stick to the draft Beane.

I agree Jones is pretty sucky. He just hasn't ever improved. I will say that I do worry a little about what he might do to himself when he gets cuts. Not to be melodramatic but when you look at his mental health history, I could see him doing something stupid when he realises he doesn't have what it takes. Even the way he plays, it's weird, he seems like a nice guy and his teammates and coaches seem to love him, so it's not like he doesn't do the right things through camp and during the week. But when he plays he looks like someone with no confidence in himself. I do wonder what's going on in the kid's head. When they axe him I hope they point him in the direction of a good shrink

I think people might be overestimating how good Diggs is. He's a good #2 receiver, but definitely not a #1. I'd put him in the same category as perhaps John Brown, but slower. But I suppose having two John Browns would be nice. I just wouldn't expect our passing game to take a huge step forward. Seems like we need a big, physical WR for the red zone and for contested catches. A change up from what we currently have.

I'd be happy if this happened.  I'd rather not drop a 1st, but Pro set w diggs, bease, smoke, knox, and motor is an all new all fast horror show for opposing Ds.

That would be one hell of a set up on offense ? ?

Diggs is a very good possession receiver. He's bigger than John Brown, but not a "big" WR at 6'0" 195lbs, and they have very different, complimentary skill sets. I think he'd fit really well, but he's not a true #1 WR, that's why I'm not sure he's worth a first rounder. I'd give a #2 & Zay in a heartbeat.

Now you are calling me a patriots fan?   You have the most accurate screen name of anyone here.

Why did you quote me?

I would NEVER call someone a NE fan... that's just a low blow and I try to keep my comments semi-respectable

Never understood wanting to spend money at the WR position. With no QB / OL, they're useless anyway.

Hilarious!

Which is why Whaley is no longer here...or anywhere for that matter.

Yeah, look at how well the Vikings did with him and Theilen last year.

Steelers with AB and JuJu.. didn't make the play offs

Falcons with Julio (aside from one year, where their defense was incredible), Calvin Ridley and Sanu.... 1-3.

How many times Calvin Johnson made the playoffs

Man those Bengals REALLY KILLED it last year with AJ Green and Tyler Boyd.

And WOW did the Giants KILL it with OBJ. All of their sub 6-10 seasons.

All the "GREAT" WR's pats had last year (other than Moss, they don't have great receivers, ever) Julian Edelman is probably avg on any other team, see Wes Welker

All those "GREAT" WR's the Panthers had when the went to the SB. (cotchery was their #1)

Seahawks with "all of the money" they have tied up in WR. (Who is their #1?)

Point being... QB driven league, WR's don't win you games. QB's make receivers.... not the other way around.
