None of Allen's (LONG) INTs were nearly as much of a problem as the blocked punt.  That play was just awful - college football stuff.

They were a bigger problem. Blocked punts happen but they don't determine the future of a team.  If the QB keeps forcing the ball down the field they will NEVER win the a championship.  It is easy to clean up punt protection. It is hard to get a QB to make better decisions.

Overall an extraordinary game. The one TD drive was a perfect pass and great catch against excellent coverage. They were stellar.

Yep that play to White was as good as it gets. Milano had perfect position. And then a good call for the TD run. Other than that and us getting caught on the pick play (which was only not an illegal pick by luck not judgment) we shut them down. D was awesome.

People asking why we are not getting sacks need to watch carefully. The last two weeks Dalton and Brady have been off target because the Bills have forced them to throw it early and it has thrown the timing off. They daren't hold onto the ball because if they do the Bills are right there.

True. However, that blocked punt was the difference in THIS GAME. Take away that gimmie TD and Bills win 10-9. Probably 13-9 because McD kicks a FG in that situation. This D blanked Brady for most of the day.

Throwing early on three step drops at that.

Belichick and Brady’s days numbered. Brady showed his age a lot today. He can float one in there, so could Fitz. Brady doesn’t have the same control when he has to put zip on it.

That Pats team isn’t breaking the Bills four Super Bowl record.

The Bills have a Super Bowl caliber D. The offense will get there.

i agree. the Brady we saw today is a shell of his former self. i don't think i can ever remember him throwing so many passes away.

the retirement clock is ticking louder and louder. the Bills may have presented the blueprint for the rest of the NFL today.

3. The OL is merely average this season - nothing we didn't know.  They were horrific last season, so it's a big upgrade, but there is no elite talent on the OL or WR corps yet.

I wanted Trent Williams traded for in late August and I'd go it now.  This team is clearly a playoff team and the best way to bolster the O is get more protection for Josh.

Trent----Spain---Morse---Feliciano/Ford---Dawkins

Do it now so he has the bye week to get up to speed.

Yep. Fantastic game plan. We took away pass last year in a couple games and they ran all over us. Today we did everything well. The Pats were hurt and limited but the defense was extraordinary.

This si true. But it's hard to swallow the loss in those circumstances. Too damn many mistakes.

It will be interesting to see whether McDermott can get them up to play Tennessee, whther Allen is able to play or not. This is another test: how to react to a dispiriting loss.

Yep. But part of it we need to attribute to Patriots. They have a great defense. The force or lull you into mistakes. Josh cannot do a few things he tried but it wasn't just hurting ourselves they forced all of those throws to some extent. I'm not excusing him on any. But they're very good.

Edelman was not playing with reckless abandon today.   If he gets healthy, that will fix a lot of their problems.   The other receivers couldn’t duplicate Edelman’s quick catch and go plays.

The offense was not atrociously bad.  They just played against a defense that is elite.  The turnovers by Allen were killer, but the offense played well.  They had nearly 400 yards of offense and were 2 yards away from taking the lead in the 4th quarter.  This offense is going to get better. It is basically 10 new players that will get better as they gel.

Whomever was at RT was atrociously bad

Yeah but they were definitely limited by not having Singletary and Foster handcuffed us, too.

Fun game. Two playoff-caliber D's showcased their wares today. No worries on the outcome, outside of two things:

1. The overall health of Josh.

2. The receivers.

The punter sucks!

As the weeks role by, the price has to be going down.  But he's a big cap hit and it would take a while for him to contribute.

Would have been nice to have Foster and Singletary today.

Pats punter is absurdly good. Seemed every kick was going 65 yards in the air no matter where he hit it from.

He was their MVP

I have no doubt the defense was amped to play Brady and company, though after this game, they'll need to sustain that effort.  It's not always going to be this good.

Still, it was great seeing them force 3 and outs and bail out the offense, but eventually, there's going to be frustration if that side of the ball doesn't improve.

There isn't enough rah-rah stuff a coach can provide if one side of the ball is at a disadvantage if the other isn't even close to decent.

That play where TB hits Edelman on the slant which woulda been a big first down and he drops it...you just know he was thinking about getting hit in the ribs there. He doesn’t drop those ones.
