So you clearly didn't understand who we were playing against.

That was a great defense over there.  And we did exactly what needed to be done.  Secure points.  Let the defense win against an offense that could do nothing tonight.

Now, if we call a series like that against far inferior defense and against teams that are going to most definitely score points, then you can scratch your head and criticize.

Not in this game.

No. No. No.

Own the opponent.

I understand who we were playing against. That wasn't the Baltimore defense from last week. Pittsburgh was actually a lighter defense than what Buffalo saw last week. But our play calling still allowed the opponent to potentially tie the football game within the final 2 minutes of the football game (TWICE!!!!) when it NEVER should have come to that.

Our coaches don't coach to win. They coach not to lose.

That's fine against Devlin Hodges. How's it going to work  in the playoffs against Brady/Jackson/Mahomes/Watson???

The Bills made the playoffs 2 years ago. How is this a measuring stick?

I think Allen could be much better right now.

I also fear this style of conservative coaching in the playoffs.

Running the ball 3 times inside the opponents' 10 yard line (while being closer to the 10 than the 5) demonstrates fear, and lots of it.

Fear trounces you out of the playoffs.

So sick of cowardly coaching.

But the same coaching staff went for the 4th and 6 and then in early Q4, threw that strike into the end zone on 3rd down.   I agree that we messed up the sequence of plays at the goal-line

Queston for Transplant....or anyone else.....I haven't gotten to watch much Bills football this year...I did see a good bit of the game tonight VS PIT.  On an Allen INT, I noticed that he threw a high velocity, flutter ball that wasn't that well placed (slightly behind and maybe a bit elevated) on the target.  That fluttering hardball would be hard to catch if it was spot on, but it made for what would have been a very hard catch (I think for Brown) and it deflected off him and was picked.

...so my question is....regarding drops....is this due in part because Allen doesn't always uncork a tight spiral?  does he throw knucklers at his guys often like that?  That kind of throw can't be that easy to grab.  Just wondering.

Not usually.  He gets criticized for throwing it too hard at times.  I am of the opinion that's nonsense and that NFL WRs should catch balls that hit them in the hands.

Because our offense is better and we also have an extremely raw QB.

They are paid to catch the ball.  If it's near them, they should be making the catch.  And at least shouldn't be deflecting it up in the air to be INT'd.

Looked perfectly catch-able to me. Higher than ideal, but then again if Beasley is 5'11" instead of 5'8" he probably snags it no problem.  Super tight spiral? Maybe not but I don't recall it being a duck.  I would have to see it again.

Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen

Cases can be made for other Bills starters who have helped place the team on the playoff track. But Allen's work has lifted Buffalo to the precipice of its first 10-win season since Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed and Bruce Smith were still Bills. Since Week 7, Allen has accounted for 17 touchdowns and thrown one interception. Equipped with free agent wideouts John Brown and Cole Beasley, the second-year QB has raised his completion percentage nearly eight points (to 59.8) from his rookie year. The Wyoming alum has become a better pocket passer, and while far from a finished product, Allen has made significant steps.  Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Another big thing worth noting is that he plays in some of the worst weather in the league.  3 games this year have had crazy wind.

No buffalo quarterback will ever be top 10 on completion for that very reason.

Kickoffs and punts aren't spirals and players catch them all the time.

I thought Allen would get above 60% completion percentage.

I actually still think he's going to be a bit above 60% when all is said and done.

It would help if our WRs weren't smurfs and could catch the damn ball.

Before you freak out about me being hyperbolic, the Bills had BY FAR the highest drop percentage in the nfl coming in to this week. Can't imagine this game helped, either.

I think they said on wgr before the game, Bills were 9-0 when Josh Allen is 60%  completion percentage or more.

As a Chiefs fan you should be the last to talk about catching this type of pass.  Over the last 2 seasons I have seen KC receivers make catches on balls that looked a lot like Allen's high throw to Beasley.  Kelsey alone seems to make 1 or 2 catches of "poorly" thrown balls every game.  In reality though those passes are not "poorly" thrown because in the NFL the first job is to get the ball to where a receiver can catch it.

That's because our WRs are actually catching footballs and making plays in those games.

He would have been over 60% again last night if not for more drops.

He would have been over 60 in the Baltimore game without a bunch of missed passes.

The numbers are the numbers.

The Bills have the highest drop % in the entire NFL by far.
