ch19079 Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 this might sound kinda strange to ask on a football message board but yall were right on the money about wine suggestions... so i got another question: ok, im looking for a black and white picture to go on my wall of my apartment. im looking for a artistic photograph, black and white, tastefull nude/semi nude picture of a woman. sounds strange when i type it...... but does anyone have any suggestions? if so, just list the title, and author please. ill find it on the internest somewhere.... remember, ART, (you know, if a girl saw it she would say.. "thats a really beutiful picture", not... "why do you have porn on your wall"). Also: im looking for a small pic, about 1 ft. by 1 ft., or slightly larger. thanks.
UConn James Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Try "Woman in Sea Hawaii" by Herb Ritts. I'd use an X-acto and frame and matte the picture so it doesn't have that cheap poster look, tho. Imagining how the front looks is half the enjoyment. I love B&W photography. Amazing how taking something out adds so much. But, I'd implore you to branch out. There's some great works here... Botanical Metamorphics. These were in the library back when I was at UConn, about 5'x3' and they were blown up from photo contact paper. I was taking botany and nutrition classes at the time and it really changes the staid way you look at nature. Really cool stuff, but quite expensive. I like the 'Sugar Peas' the most. On Edit --- whoops, didn't see your size spec. I don't know how much you're going to find that size that aren't dirty pictures....
stuckincincy Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Robert Mapplethorpe's works might suit your needs...
NorCal Aaron Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 If your intention is to impress a potential hook up, skip the nude woman theme. Go Avedon or Leibovitz: http://www.nytimes.com/library/photos/leib.../bourgeois.html Or go suggestive in a more subtle way - try O'Keefe's big showy vulva looking flowers. If you're aiming for traditional nude americana like mom used to make, try Hustler's 'Leave it to Beaver' issue.
CJPearl2 Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 I heard of a great new artist you should check out.....Ron Mexico!
ch19079 Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 I heard of a great new artist you should check out.....Ron Mexico! 299004 so is it just a big herpies sore with a frame around it... i dont think that would look good on my wall. it would be creapy... and definatly end my sex life with any girl who saw that.
The Poojer Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 i don't have any pictures of your apartment, but I do have some nude pictures of your wife/girlfriend/sister/mother/boyfriend
IDBillzFan Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Unless your 19 and living with your parents, I'd say skip the cliche', stereotypical male-needs-a-chick-on-the-wall art, but stick with black and white. I recommend a great photograher from Southern Florida named Clyde Butcher. I have one of his signed pieces called Moonrise. Just beautiful work. At least to my eyes.
TheManTheMythTheLegend Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Go to www.geekswhoneedpussy.com 299040 damnit kelly, I was wondering who registered that domain...

(or something like that).
Beerball Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 I bet it was Stojan. 299062 Nah, he got banned.
TheManTheMythTheLegend Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Nah, he got banned. 299069 Thank god.. that guy talked too much...
aussiew Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 1 foot x 1 foot would not be considered "art". Why so small? How small is your wall??

One is a sketch of Jesus and the other is a half-finished sketch of Don Quixote charging the windmills. But they're signed and athenticated, and I've been wondering what kind of value they have.
Beerball Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Thank god.. that guy talked too much... 299072 he was a fuggin blabbermouth. good riddance you ask me.
Beerball Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Why so small? 299075 You have a way of asking a man very embarassing questions.
rockpile Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Not quite B&W, not color. Very different for VanGogh: poplar trees
