Probably.  I certainly think anyone beating NE in Week 4 is a tall task, especially a team like us that “should” be much better later in the year with all our youth and new players.

I do agree the mistakes need to chill.

That being said, we all talk about our schedule...  The Pats have played 3 teams with a combined worse record than the teams we beat.... and the teams we’ve beat have only won 1 game.

To add to this, I think psychologically we try to look for patterns to be able to predict what is going to happen, but with the NFL it is really hard to do because so much is going on. Then of course there is a team like NE which makes thing seem predictable.

Right. However, they have the track record and dispatched those teams pretty handily. We have a decent idea what that team is, but not a very clear picture for this one. Especially on offense, it’s just too new.

It's interesting that Gore, Yeldon, and Singletary are all north-south runners, where Shady is more east-west/improvise.  Shady's style probably doesn't work as well with what the OLine wants to do in their run blocking scheme.

I would say almost all of Singletary’s good plays were East West.

Not to the extent that Shady improvised.  Singletary seems to stay more on script.

That's why it was stupid to cut Murphy and keep guys like Dimarco....every team in todays NFL strives to rotate rbs. Thats why you should have 4 capable ones.  Not 3 + a worthless FB?

I tend to agree that we need another RB. Murphy is not at all a complete back but he is capable of getting yards.

DiMarco was lead blocker on the game winning TD.  He can block and play special teams.

My simple thoughts and observations on this one. That interception by Allen was garbage and if he's going to be taken seriously he simply can't throw that ball. I said ok Josh you have to lead your team in the fourth quarter to a come from behind victory drive. He did he absolutely did. Though he can't make that type of throw anymore ( and sitting on the sideline he knew it. So there's that) He showed the poise the Will and most important the ability to compete and that's what I needed to see.

If nothing else we’re consistent!  Impressive.

You forgot the part about posters pissing and moaning about the pissing and moaning.

We get a lot of that around here.

I’m bullish on the job Bills GM Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott have done team-building, and it really does show up in the young core on a week-to-week basis. This week, 2017 Defensive Rookie of the Year Tre’Davious White (two interceptions) and 2019 third-rounder Dawson Knox (first career TD, 49-yard catch on which he ran through two tacklers) were the ones illustrating it in the home opener against the Bengals. We’ll see who steps up next for 3-0 Buffalo, with the Patriots coming to town.

Better run and hide. This board does not accept positive words about DiMarco. He is useless and must be cut. Any evidence to the contrary must be ignored.

Found this tidbit interesting.
Tracking the snap counts by possession is a good way to learn more about the roster and what the team thinks of individual players. Recently, we’ve seen a trend of defensive tackle Harrison Phillips on a similar footing as incumbent starter Star Lotulelei. How the Bills organized their personnel in the fourth quarter made evident whom the team trusted with the game on the line, at least on Sunday. Lotulelei received only three fourth-quarter snaps — and none on the final defensive series. By the end of the game, Phillips wound up with more time on the field than Lotulelei.

Additionally, it was notable that the Bills felt comfortable enough on the final drive to take their top pass-rushers off the field. After six snaps, the Bills called Jerry Hughes and Trent Murphy off the field and put backups Shaq Lawson and Darryl Johnson in a huge spot. For the backups, it’s proof of the trust the coaching staff places in them. For the starters, it’s difficult to come out of the game in a spot that big.

My favorite part of this was piece something I noticed while watching the game yesterday. Daboll is the best OC we have had in a long time. Switching it up like he did with the pullers led to a few big gains.

For the third consecutive game, the opposition was left guessing from one play to the next because of the offensive coordinator’s innovative approach. Daboll’s ability to defy the tape and clues from the previous weeks gave his offense the edge in the first half.

“They were doing a lot of jets (sweeps) and a lot of pullers,” Bengals linebacker Preston Brown said after the game. “The pullers were taken to the ball on film, but this week the pullers were the misdirection.”
