The best measure of Allen’s progress will be head-to-head.

2018 was the “Year of the Quarterback,” with five passers selected in the first round of the draft. One of those was Josh Allen, picked seventh overall by the Buffalo Bills. Allen was the third quarterback chosen that year, but a potpourri of opinions had the quarterbacks sorted six ways to Sunday in pre-draft rankings. Thanks to a series of events (and a scheduling coincidence), Allen has the chance to square off against every single one of his main 2018 counterparts this season—the other five of the first six quarterbacks drafted in that year will play against the Bills.

I'm drawing a blank on the 5th...

Should I just read the article?

I wouldn’t really call a 3rd round pick a “major” quarterback

Mostly for narrative; however, plenty of pundits and bills board members thought Rudolph would be a better player than our Josh and Lamar Jackson.

Yeah but...there are 23 other players that factor into the head-to-head, right?

I get what your saying and it would be nice for the Bills to beat all of them, but there's a lot of credit to all of the other kids.

This is true, but only quarterbacks have a win/loss record and winning percentage attached to their name as a stat.
