thunderingsquid Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I'm at about 51 hope and 49 nope at this point.
jkeerie Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I'm just taking it one week at a time. I always hope the Bills win, but now I have an expectation that they will play well and be in every game.
billsfan1959 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 (edited) I never understood people tempering hope or optimism. Why not have an abundance of both until it is clear there is no more hope or optimism for the season? At least then, you can fully enjoy it while it does last, rather than letting it go by because of a fear it will end anyway. Love what I am seeing so far and I have complete faith in where they are headed - until I shouldn't. Go Bills! And before I hear "the last 20 years" refrain, I have been a fan for 52 years and I have seen far more bad than good. Still full of hope and optimism at the start of each new season. BillsFanSD Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I was originally predicting a 9-7 season with us 1-1 at this point (L vs. NYJ and W vs. NYG). Since then, we picked up an extra W in a very mild upset, our QB is playing significantly better than he did last year along with the rest of the offense, and the defense has been about as good as we all expected. So I see no reason not to be hopeful.
BITE ME Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Such a pessimistic and stupid post. They are 2-0 with 2 road wins. They have a top 10 Defense and a top 10 Offense. They are playing good football. Hope or Nope is just moronic. This isn't some lucky team, this is a good team. 2

Anticipating and bracing for disaster is no way to live your life...unless you're a lawyer. 2
klos63 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 After 2 weeks, we are a very good team. Whenever you have a lot of new faces, young players ... there is plenty of room to improve. I think we'll only get better as the season goes forward. I can't wait for next week. Bengals scare me a bit with their great passing game. 1

BillsfanAZ Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I dont get the hope or nope. I just watch the Bills and take it as it comes. The Bills are significantly better than they were last season. They arent going to win every game but they should be competitive. The Bills are playing well and we will see how competitive they are in week 4 against the Pats. 1
White Linen Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 We're an overly emotional fanbase. Some of that is what makes us great and some of it is our downfall. This thread start is the latter. Why does hope matter? We're 2-0 and we beat two teams in the bottom half. The first was ugly, the second was better but both should have been by much wider margins. Good news is we're not losing to inferior teams. The concern is, we have a lot of work to do to compete with the better half of teams.

I'm with you billsfan1959. I don't get the people who wait until after the fact to get excited. They'll cry that the pain hurts too much. Screw that, it's all part of being a "fan". I've been a fan since the late 70s and every year I start getting excited as soon as free agency gets here. That continues into the year until they' show clear evidence not to be excited. Enjoying the whole ride.....I wouldn't have it any other way. 1
clearwater cadet Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I fact that were 2 and 0 is great. However with Jets losing Darnold for possible 4 weeks, and the Colts, Steelers, and Jags all losing there Qb's for the season, well that opens things up and makes this a bit easier. Hopefully if the team stays health we might be able to grab that 5th wild card spot, and then have a playoff game against the worse of the conference winner.

Exactly we beat teams we were supposed to beat, we have to continue that trend against Cincy and worry about the Patriots etc the following week. One week at a time. WhoTom Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 When the Bills were 0-0, I had hope. At 2-0 with both wins on the road, I now have expectations. 2
Don Otreply Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I always have hope, no use being a fan if you don’t have hope, if that’s the case it’s time for a new hobby. Go Bills!!!
