Ethan in Cleveland Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I thought it was a good no-call in real speed. In slow motion I think Poyer dipped his head just a bit and I suspect he gets a slap on the wrist fine. Your guess?
TroutDog Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 It looked like he led with his shoulder to me. 8
jletha Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 What are you referring to? I dont remember Poyer being involved in any controversial play. Are you talking about the Hyde hit on Fowler? 1
Magox Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Their helmets definitely clashed. He could get a 10k fine. 2
NewEra Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Just now, Magox said: Their helmets definitely clashed. He could get a 10k fine. This 1
plenzmd1 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 yes, and he should be fined. BTW, i thought the refs were awful yesterday.and they were .for both teams
Bangarang Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Need pictures of his wife before I can decide 1 4
RoyBatty is alive Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Did the dirtball Robby Anderson get fined for his play versus the Bills
Rochesterfan Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I don’t think it was dirty - more unlucky - as both guys ducked in, but yes I would expect a fine a he did end up going helmet to helmet. It looked like he was trying to lead with his shoulder and just got head to head. 2
Johnny Hammersticks Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I don’t think it was intentional helmet to helmet, and certainly not targeting, but I do suspect a fine coming his way. 1
BullBuchanan Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 it's a tough call, he did one of those side hits where you try to lead with your shoulder by you really lead with the side of your head, because that's how the human body works. It's bad form and I hate that style of tackle. Unfortunately, Latimer braced for the tackle by leading with the side of his head too. There didn't seem to be any malice in it, just bad technique by two players at the same time.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 If he gets fined, I think we need to start up a collection because that hit was worth every penny. 1
H2o Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Yeah, I think the league hits him with a fine. It was helmet to helmet and he almost seemed to launch himself a bit.
BigPappy Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 11 minutes ago, TroutDog said: It looked like he led with his shoulder to me. Yeah it looked to me like he lead with his shoulder as well. The problem was Fowler's shoulder dipped to and they ended up with some helmet to helmet contact. Like several said, it wasn't intentional but contact is contact. The thing that gets me, is they will never be able to take away helmet to helmet contact. There will be times where you'll get incidental contact like that. That said, he will probably be fined in the 10K range. 1
Kmart128 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Helmets hit however it looked like Poyer tried to lead with his shoulder but when receiver got tripped up their helmets collided. I don't think he deserves one. But it's the NFL so they'll fine him anyways 3
bigK14094 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 The helmet impact was the side of both helmets. He did lead with the shoulder, and didn't hit directly w the helmet. I am thinking he should not get fined, but, the league is political, not fair. NYC is a big audience, and they may well play to that fan base.
