The illegality of which was made due to the dangerousness of the type of tackle. In other words, you get into a fight when your goalie / QB gets hit with a cheap shot. Troll on though. Troll? Because I dont support stupidity? It was a stupid play end of story.

Wow, you really read between the line. I did say right now. Do you want our rookie RT to not get to an edge rusher and our prized QB get blasted?
Bring it Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Glad to see Ford jump in there and have his QBs back!! I thought he handled it well. It’s not like he threw a punch or anything. Just a shove is all I saw. Roughing the passer should have been called as well!! 1
PIZ Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Love that we finally have an OL that will not be intimidated. 3

Please point out where in the first post you qualified your statement with "right now". You even mention the future with your "down the road" comment. If you mean he could still have a chance, you might want to edit that first post. And the Line consistently gave Josh 3 or more seconds to deliver the ball. Not every play, but no line does that. And yeah, any and every Tackle will whiff once in a while. Allow him to keep developing and that will be less and less. Edited September 16, 2019 by DrDawkinstein 2

You can argue sticking up for your QB until your blue in the face and I’m all for that, but the rookie needs to be smarter about it. There are other ways to protect your guy and show your force than after the play right in front of the ref Yes & No. It’s about timing. Early in the season (& winning the game)- set the tone for the rest of the Season. Don’t F with my QB or WE’RE coming after you. And why wasn’t the taunting called? It can, however, be extremely tiring when posters such as yourself refuse to see another perspective and will instead attack it with unsubstantiated bull####. In true 21st century debate form, you’ve latched onto a single statement I made about a specific play, and made a generalized assumption and unfair inference about an entire positional group that is at best, hyperbole. There was zero practical need for Ford to make that play. Argue “toughness” or “brotherhood” all you want. But the reason our OL is much better this year than last is not because of their willingness to take 15 unnecessary roughness penalties defending their QB I respect your POV and you're correct about the unfair generalization. That said, I've never played football. If the guys protecting Allen feel the need to make a statement and take a penalty to do so, I'm down with it as long as he does it with a level head (which it sounds as though he did) You gotta protect the QB

Bob in STL Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I must admit I sure loved seeing Cody jump to his QBs aide but in a close game against a quality opponent those penalties can hurt. Best for Cody to get that play out if the way in this game. Next time, stay cool and pound your opponent on the next play. The refs did not protect our QB which was the worst part if the play.

Maybe a little more disciplined response next time but his heart is in the right place. Now if his play would rise to his heart, that would be even better! I say take it the other way. It's a 15 yard penalty regardless, launch him ten yards onto his back. Besides we rotate RTs

Even Belechick would have been walking onto the field. Several here described it exactly how I saw it. Those dopes on the broadcast (along with the retired official dope) totally got that wrong. The refs were blowing all sorts of calls (both sides) in this game. For example, on Singletary's TD, there was an obvious facemask penalty right in front of the ref. It turned out to be moot, but nobody said boo despite it being close up with the end zone camera. I can’t even imagine the absolute hystrionics from the Pats if that same ***** was done to Brady.

YoloinOhio Posted September 16, 2019 Author Posted September 16, 2019 Always love watching the reaction when things get chippy. Buffalo is very, very quick to Josh Allen's back. That’s a good sign. 2

Ethan in Cleveland Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Want your QB's back? Block better. Move your feet during the play. Do you really think shoving a guy after the whistle is going to make the defender any less likely to go after the QB? No. It's a dumb play and only hurts your team. It feels good in the moment, but so does heroin. 1
