Glad to see Ford jump in there and have his QBs back!! I thought he handled it well. It’s not like he threw a punch or anything. Just a shove is all I saw. Roughing the passer should have been called as well!!

Nothing to read between the lines. Please point out where in the first post you qualified your statement with "right now". You even mention the future with your "down the road" comment.

 

If you mean he could still have a chance, you might want to edit that first post.

 

And the Line consistently gave Josh 3 or more seconds to deliver the ball. Not every play, but no line does that. And yeah, any and every Tackle will whiff once in a while. Allow him to keep developing and that will be less and less.

It’s about timing. Early in the season (& winning the game)- set the tone for the rest of the Season. Don’t F with my QB or WE’RE coming after you.

 

And why wasn’t the taunting called?

In true 21st century debate form, you’ve latched onto a single statement I made about a specific play, and made a generalized assumption and unfair inference about an entire positional group that is at best, hyperbole. 

 

There was zero practical need for Ford to make that play. Argue “toughness” or “brotherhood” all you want. But the reason our OL is much better this year than last is not because of their willingness to take 15 unnecessary roughness penalties defending their QB

 

I respect your POV and you're correct about the unfair generalization.

 

That said, I've never played football.  If the guys protecting Allen feel the need to make a statement and take a penalty to do so, I'm down with it as long as he does it with a level head (which it sounds as though he did)

I must admit I sure loved seeing Cody jump to his QBs aide but in a close game against a quality opponent those penalties can hurt.  Best for Cody to get that play out if the way in this game.  Next time, stay cool and pound your opponent on the next play.  

 

The refs did not protect our QB which was the worst part if the play.

I say take it the other way.  It's a 15 yard penalty regardless, launch him ten yards onto his back.  Besides we rotate RTs

The refs were blowing all sorts of calls (both sides) in this game.  For example, on Singletary's TD, there was an obvious facemask penalty right in front of the ref.  It turned out to be moot, but nobody said boo despite it being close up with the end zone camera.

I can’t even imagine the absolute hystrionics  from the Pats if that same ***** was done to Brady.

Want your QB's back? Block better. Move your feet during the play.  Do you really think shoving a guy after the whistle is going to make the defender any less likely to go after the QB? No. It's a dumb play and only hurts your team. It feels good in the moment, but so does heroin.
