The Dean Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Saw/heard the same thing. First thing i thought: I'm glad I didn't draft him for my fantasy team. Yes, I think he holds himself to a high standard and he simply can't meet it anymore. I expect he will retire tomorrow. But I could be wrong.
Ray Finkel Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Great career. The guy started his career when Kelly was still playing.

SinceThe70s Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 If it's true that he is retiring due to a bad game that's pretty weak to me. Announcing that this will be his last season would be better IMO. Different story if there are physical issues.

Well, two bad games, two weeks in a row. Just for clarification. But I also have to believe he realizes he simply doesn't have it to play to the level he expects. Otherwise, I agree it would be weak. Given his career, I doubt it's a weak excuse. Edited September 15, 2019 by The Dean 3 1
Bferra13 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Last active player drafted in the 90s? 1

No need to just hang on for a paycheck and put his team at a disadvantage...
stevewin Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Wish he had retired after the 2001 regular season

Virgil Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Hate to see a man go out that way, but he’s had a historic run
apuszczalowski Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Man, seems like a tough time to be a Colts fan. Luck first, now Vinatierri
