Kelly the Dog Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 It's not an easy question to answer. Brady is great at avoiding sacks but getting the ball out quick and stepping up or sideways. But he cannot get away from rushers quickly right in his face like Allen can. Rodgers and Ben, along with maybe Russell Wilson and Mahomes are all very good at it. But Allen eludes and breaks tackles and fakes out and outruns and sidesteps potential sacks as good as anyone, already. It happens all the time, even this year (although not nearly as often as last year). And he still holds the ball too long too many times, that is not what I am talking about. But the sheer number of tackles avoided he has that look like sure sacks is extremely impressive. He's also either one or two as far as running QBs, depending on what you think of Lamar Jackson, who doesn't even run much this year. 4

Bferra13 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 He reminds me of Pig Ben back in the day wen he had no line.
Warcodered Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 and then sometimes he just carries defenders until he decides to throw it away. 1
Drunken Pygmy Goat Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 He's looking more and more like Big Ben, and less and less like Cam Newton. His stiff arm is great BTW. He had another one today, and his stiff arm on Miles Jack last year in the way to the end zone was epic 3

billsbackto81 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Russell Wilson comes to mind. Big Ben was pretty good in his prime but is now a statue.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Right now he is Rodgers in his prime at escaping. The pass to Knox today was beautiful in the first half and the stutter step on the throw to Brown in the Fourth was an epic fake out. 2

I think he does it so effortlessly and quickly so often we get spoiled. 1 1
BuffaloBillies Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 He's Roethlisberger with wheels. What's not to like? I'm all in on him.

BillsFan130 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I would say Mahomes. But ya Allen is pretty damn good at it 2
Happy Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 (edited) I'd add Drew Brees as a QB very good at avoiding a pass rush. But, yeah, Allen is pretty good Edited September 15, 2019 by Happy Gilmore
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 With each passing week and the kids trajectory it feels like pretty soon we will be asking with a straight face is there a better QB in the league? 1 1

When to run and when to avoid , reestablish the pocket and pass. There is not a down and distance this offense can’t make. When is the last time we felt that way? 92? 1
Big C Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 He has still taken a few too many big hits these first two weeks. Not just running. Hope our OT play improves.

But if guys are right on Josh and about to tackle him he's incredible at not being tackled quite often.

That would be great, but Mahomes is King of the young bucks for the foreseeable future. Lamar, Josh and Baker are battling out for #2.
