prissythecat Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 After 2015 , Cam has had 2 bad seasons and 1 "ok" season. Injury and loss of key players (Josh Norman cough cough) may be cited as reasons for the sub par succeeding seasons. But after last night's loss in which Cam often missed easy throws to open receivers and couldn't gain positive yardage on carries, one wonders if Cam has any way to adjust to a game after his physical abilities may have gone into a steep decline. More traditional pocket QBs can compensate as they age / decline because they know how to read a defense and can use their remaining physical abilities to their fullest.
aceman_16 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I have never liked Cam to begin with.... so I question if he ever started. 5 1 2
RoyBatty is alive Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 His running ability has diminished tremendously. He was never a great passer, but his running ability helped his passing game. His arm is still strong but decision making and accuracy are weak. He is much easier to defend against now. He can still be a starting QB in the NFL but his days of being an elite or even an average NFL QB are gone. 1
416BillsFan Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Loved watching Cam, so I hope he can recover. But he looked absolutely awful - not running on the 4th and 1/2 and the 2 yard line was painful to watch. And not to read much into it, but is he giving us a clue by dressing like he's on the way to a Boca Raton retirement home 2 weeks in a row? 1 1

Royale with Cheese Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Every single synonym for potentially. 1
Nester Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Yup. Panthers and fins should have a “Tank-off” 2
CaptnCoke11 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 (edited) Certainly looks like it right now but I don’t care either way. Don’t really give two farts about other teams other except Buffalo. Edited September 13, 2019 by CaptnCoke11 1 1
Gugny Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Unfortunately, I think he is. And it's too bad. I've always been a Cam fan. 4
Not at the table Karlos Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 He had surgery on throwing shoulder in offseason and another injury in preseason. I don’t think he’s healed all the way. His arm has looked weak at times. 4
uticaclub Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Sadly, the most optimistic reviews of Allen is that Cam Newton would be his ceiling. Let's hope Josh can raise that bar.
All_Pro_Bills Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 His theatrics, such as those strange hats, make me wonder if his head is in the game 24x7 and if he sees himself more as an entertainer than a professional QB committed to bringing his best every Sunday. My advice, drop all the nonsense and get to work or give it up. 4 1
thenorthremembers Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hard to tell. Statistically, from a passing stand point he has always been average. He played out of his mind in 2015. If he had a more vanilla personality he may have never been looked at as elite. Outside of 2015, he has basically had a little better career than someone like Joe Flacco. Is it over, or did it really ever really start outside of one great season and a lot of commercialism? 1

I turned it off sometime in the third quarter. He looks slow running. Lumbering. His passing delivery looks really slow. He looks like an offensive lineman trying to connect on 15-yard out-patterns, instead of the nimble little guys playing QB now. Allen's release is MUCH quicker. Plus, I've never liked his attitude, all smiles when things are going well, pouting and whining when they aren't. I don't think he's a true leader. And no one has ever praised his field general skills. You don't hear announcers say that he's mastered the thinking game, that he outsmarts defenses regularly. I was never really impressed with him anyway, but last night he looked like he didn't deserve to be out there. 2

I think his lower body is shot, his legs, that is why he isn't running as much and his passes aren't what they used and with his decision making and accuracy it looks pretty bad to me be still has an NFL arm.
