YoloinOhio Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) Quote It was the worst-kept secret in the Dolphins’ building. Gase believed that Mayfield, who rolls into town with the Browns for a Monday night showdown against the Jets, was clearly better than Sam Darnold, according to sources familiar with the situation. In fact, people in the know revealed that Gase had more of an affinity for Josh Allen than Darnold too. The Dolphins didn’t schedule a private workout on campus with Darnold or bring him in for a visit, because Gase simply didn’t think he was as good as Mayfield and Allen. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/ny-adam-gase-sam-darnold-baker-mayfield-josh-allen-20190910-zxmkfq7a7fdgbcs5u4ncwoti6q-story.html Edited September 10, 2019 by YoloinOhio 2 8 3

billsfan1959 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Adam, welcome to the spotlight of the New York media. This will end well... 2
billspro Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 If Gase can’t turn Darnold into a Matt Ryan type of QB that is on him. The talent is there, he just needs good coaching. I’m very happy the Jets hired Gase though, I could see this team turning into a dumpster fire really quickly. They have had a poorly run organization for years. 1
Alphadawg7 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Wheres my popcorn...this gonna be a fun next 6 weeks where Jets face potentially starting 1-6 or 0-7 1 6

Lurker Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 And so it begins. You'll need more than smelling salts, Mr. Gase. There's blood in the water and the New York media sharks are circling... 2 3
oldmanfan Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 There is no way Gase survives the N.Y. media. 3
teef Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 this has been a rough few days for gase and jets fans. 1

The problem for Gase is that Manish went to his old pals in Miami for the dirt and I’m sure they had no problem dishing it. 3 2 1

He seemed to have a difficult time during his presser yesterday, getting kinda snippy and short with them. He's a putz. Might be a decent X's and O's kinda guy but he's got like, zero leadership ability. He reminds me of Josh McDaniels in that he believes he's the smartest guy in any room. (For any insight on McDaniels, check out "Slow Getting Up" a book by Nate Jackson, a WR/career special teamer who played under McDaniels when he coached in Denver). He also believes he doesn't have to answer to anyone or justify anything he does. Don't expect your players to take accountability when it's clear you can't take it yourself.
Say When... (for the record i think Allen will get there) someone is just trying to fuel the fire, gosh, i though our local media coverage was prickly... Darnold was the right pick where he was taken.
yungmack Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 If this is true, that's all I need to know about his football IQ.
Bray Wyatt Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Adam Gase is the Josh Rosen of coaches 2 1
SloanBillsFan Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Yikes! Is this some kind of left-handed hex on the Bills? IDK but I think I could have gone the rest of my life without this little tidbit from Mr. Throw-my-whole-team-under-the-bus
H2o Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Yes, yes, pile it on for Spags and his brethren!!! 2 2
RobbRiddick Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I hope when Gase went home after the game, all ready for a hug off the wife, he found an empty house and a note on the fridge that simply said: "see how you ***** like it" 1
